It surely can't be any surprise.
Phillips is still on loan at Wycombe but he hasn't been playing much recently.
Walker and Rowan have been on loan at Aldershot and Barnet respectively. Hardly a smooth path to Championship level.
I think most of the others that went out on loan are a fair bit younger so most will/should be retained. Even at that level it depends on finances. |  |

No surprise and the right decision for all three given the level they are currently playing at. At our level if a players not knocking on the first team door by 21 they probably are not going to make it.
I don’t know how many professionals we currently have, but I seem to think the numbers have been criticised in the past for being unsustainable. Football is an even tougher career in the current climate.

These people are crazy.
Its as if they expect every young player is going to be a first team superstar.
But then if we promoted them all to the first team squad for next season instead of signing players they'd be flooding the club channels crying that we're not signing any players, and of course exclaiming the age old favourite...

The majority of our u23s do very little when they leave us. Most never play at this level.
Just seen that Jimmy Smith, who was supposed to be the next best thing when at Chelsea and on loan to us had been released by Crawley... He's 33 now 😲. Where does time go?? | |

Would like to know the overall cost of an U23 set up. That is, coaching and player salaries, admin, logistics, location, the whole lot.
We must have an equivalent of 2 professional teams even without the U23’s. Maybe go back to an equivalent of the football combination and bring in the Eze’s and Chair’s via that route. |  | | |
