HR = Human Remains. I helped my sister when she was faced with this; basically they were trying to get rid of staff with minimum redundancy payment. However, their process was so flawed, and through collective action (girl power through the sisters, she called it) she ended up with a good deal. Despite being well-known and much appreciated by all, she was obliged to list her competencies and behaviours that supported her application, with full evidence, dates etc in each case. All the best if that's what's expected of you.

Sadly this is the way of things now in our pc world where HR virtue signal any cause. It is all about competencies and behaviours but in reality it is an excuse to weed out the people you don't like and give the jobs to who they like.

I have been off work 6 weeks as four women have been gaslighting me. Apparently that is OK after months of blackening my character and does not constitute any infringement of their core values. I sent an email calling out the ringleader in my own time as the victim and I have been charged with improper conduct by HR for reacting to severe provocation.

So far my union and management have done nothing to assist.

HR or as we in the recruitment trade call them failed recruitment consultants . All total up there own jacksy belleneds every last one of them , they live there lives being bitter and twisted stuck in a. Job which they love being bigger that anyone else due to there failings in life

Thanks. I can retire next year after 40 years service. A nice way to treat me with just 12 months to I possibly go. So far the union has just advised to be off sick to stall any hearing. Personally I feel that they should be trying to stop any hearing actually happening so I will be trying to get them to make that case.

Sorry to hear of your troubles mate.As I wrote on here a couple of weeks ago,our firm are making a load of people redundant,including one bloke who has been there for 42 years.He joined straight from school and has never done anything else than drive a truck.
They told him last week that he isn’t being allocated a job and has been selected for redundancy.But his maximum service will be capped at 20 years under government rules.What a way to treat long time staff.

Thanks for your support. Yes I hate to say it but it seems to be the norm to despise the loyal long term staff. In my place they keep trying to change the terms and conditions for people like me because they are better than for newer staff. The strategy seems to be to try and force you to leave voluntarily so they don't have to pay you off.

There is a real dislike of an underling like me having more knowledge and experience about the work. They have always passed me over for promotions bringing in new staff over my head trying to force me out. All these new employees are on short term contracts.

No white male has been promoted into any vacancies in my team for over a decade. Any challenge about this discrimination you care to make is brushed under the carpet. And woebetide you if you compliment a woman in the workplace like I did and the furore that created. It will soon become a criminal offence to ask a woman for a date.

Your first paragraph nails it exactly. All (nearly) companies are at it. A race to the bottom. A senior manager once said to me about anyone doing the same job 'they don't have x years experience they have one years experience doing the same thing for x years'. That's how long service is viewed. Managers stay in a job for two years make a mess and then move on. They think every one else should do the same.

Thanks for this support you are right. I have long experience in one field work and all the people who mess up get promoted to move them on. They hold me prisoner in my role because I have the expertise and nobody else wants to do my job.
