Both have lost their place in the WBA starting line up to Grosiki and O Shea. We have no need for Phillips with BOS in full flight but sure could've done with Darnell this season.

Hate to say it but always thought Furlong would struggle at WBA. I think he’s a mid table Championship right back at best. Not great going forward but ok defensively.

Phillips has always flattered to deceive. Feels like he should be a much more effective footballer based upon his ability but usually frustrating to watch. Rarely seems fully committed.

I saw Phillps do about seven stepovers in the box during one attack against Fulham today, and when it came time to shoot... he missed the ball and fell over.

Felt like 2015.

All very well, but is there any kind of promotion sell on if WBA go up with Furs II in the team?

Phillips a lazy get you ask me. Never saw him put a proper shift in.

Love Darnell back, he's one of our own.

Phillips a real confidence player. When he's on it he's quality but often overthinks things.

Furlong always looked better at centre back. If wba get promotion I think he may be one who would be moved on.

Hi guys, apologies for going in a completely different direction with this. I tried to add it as new thread numerous times but it wouldn't let me, so I decided to piggyback on an old thread of mine. Hopefully you will see it and respond.
Over the last few days we have, rightly, lavished praise on Clive as we explored the various options available in keeping the site open. We described his writing and journalistic skills as superb among other things, with particular reference to his match reports.
Which got me thinking... why? What exactly is it about Clive's writing that is so top drawer?
I came up with the follow four reasons.
(1) Authenticity: Clive tells it to exactly as it is, warts and all. For example, his disgust at our recent performance at home to Sheffield Wednesday was palpable and resonated in every word he wrote. I can understand why Warburton has to give a more sanitised version of events which is why he was able to identify 'three outfield players who emerged with some credit'. Fortunately for us, Clive has no need or desire for such constraints and we could feel the hurt in every word. Conversely his unbridled joy the day we beat Derby in the play-off final and his almost parental amusement at our 'kids' antics against WBA the other night were equally articulated.
(2) Respect: Clive shows great respect to us, his readers. He is capable of using 'big' words in a carefully constructed sentence while talking about a 'wa nk bank' in the next. He expects us to seamlessly switch gears mentally without any apology or explanation.
(3) Passion: Clearly linked to point number one, but Clive's love for QPR -which sometimes unapologetically clouds his objectivity - shines through every word he writes
(4) Knowledge: Clive's knowhow on all things QPR is off the scale in his previews, but at least in those he has the benefit of research. But how the hell does he remember so many minute details in every match, all of which, up to a few months ago he was watching live? Utterly remarkable.
