....is going to be superb in this Palace team.

Agreed. A very attack minded team and good to watch as were Manure late towards the end of last season.

Looks as though he has played at that level for a long time. Fitted in nicely.

'You didn't know that was wrong, but now you do. If you do it again, I'll know you are doing it on purpose.'

God I hope so. Genuinely so excited by the potential. Love him.

Hodgson‘s built a decent team and has a good track record of improving young players at Palace. Wan Bissaka went for £50m and they rejected £70m for Zaha.

That 20% sell on clause might come in handy.

Looked very comfortable, great to see, nice to see him getting away from Premiership defenders so easily.

God he's going to be good!

Palace looked really good. Eze gets on and ends up winning at Old Trafford. Infinitely more preferable than losing at Coventry with us. Reality can be a rude awakening for us suffering following the hoops...

May we wouldn’t have lost if we still had Eze?

That is possible but with our defence anything Eze could have done for us might only have got us a draw. So still better for the lad to win at United than win at Coventry with us.

Palace looked a great balance of real organised hard to beat at the back and exciting going forward. I think they can finish top half this year

Schlupp was really good for Palace before Eze came on for him and created their first goal with a great cross. Schlupp also used to being much more defensive. Eze may get games from the start against weaker opposition...great to see him out there with the same immaculate first touch and confidence. Big change for me watching Palace was they played Zaha up through the middle alongside Ayew and looked far better for it than having Zaha as out and out winger.

Looked very good when he came on. Was even doing defensive blocks just outside the middle of the penalty area. However they were three one up and he was fresh. Be interesting if if hodgson will trust him enough defensively to start games particularly away.

I bought a day pass from NOW tv to watch our match. I was watching the Palace game and waiting for Eze. He gets on, makes a block, does a little dribble which leads to a goal and then just as he slips a trademark ball for an out of picture forward to run in behind.......the time runs out on my pass! Lol

I'll never know what happened.

Palace were very good. Probabkly the best I've seen them since "the team of the 80's".

Eze was very comfortable & confident & it looked as if his team mates knew he can play. They had no hesitation in giving him the ball with expectations that something could happen.

I thought Palace were the wrong club for him, but if they continue playing like that he will surely benefit.

I very much envy Palace now. They have Eze, great midfield and attacking players and both their kits are things of beauty.

Never knowingly right.

I think Palace could be a very good fit for him, and he can flourish maybe do well at a bit less pressure than a few of the "top" clubs bed in slowly under Hodgson who as a club manager always seems competent.

Still don't get how it went so wrong for England with him really.

I think Hodgson is just a great fit for mid-table/lower half Prem clubs - see Palace, Fulham, West Brom. Brilliant at getting teams to perform as greater than the sum of their parts but that didn't translate well to England management. He really know how to drill in a defensive set-up but I guess at international level, where you have less time on the training ground and you're managing notionally 'elite' players who are more used to playing expansive attacking football - it doesn't work.

Everything that has been said from coaches re:Eze is that he's a brilliant learner and very open to taking on new things. So agree that Palace could be a great fit - for Hodgson to sort out the few defensive deficiencies in Eze's game.

Good cameo from him last night - looked dangerous and opened up the space that led to Zaha's second by dragging a second man over to mark him. Miss him so much - gonna try and catch as many Palace games as I can this season.

I feel that Palace are going to be my 2nd team this season. Most of my non-football supporter friends always get my allegiance mixed up with them, especially as I spent much of my youth in SE London.

He even trapped a high ball in the D of the Palarse penalty area. Imagine the risk if it had spun off to a manure player. What confidence.

Funny how football can change. Ten years ago we did the double over them on our way to the title and they looked a shambles.

I watched that moment without a single doubt in my mind he would kill it dead.

Maybe a little concerned Benrahma will squeeze his minutes further if they do complete that.

They're reportedly among the runners for Rhian Brewster from Liverpool too. Will have smashed a massively important summer if it all comes off.

It's the premiership money that makes the difference if you can stay there. The difference between Palace and us is that we only stayed there for two and one season in the space of 4 years so we briefly got financial rewards.

Whereas this is the 8th consecutive season Palace has played at that level. The financial rewards for staying in that league year after year means Palace are pulling away from us as they are well established at that level now. We missed our chance twice so now they can attract better quality like Eze and keep hold of Zaha.

We have to sell our best talent to survive or so it seems but Palace can keep theirs and push on making their squad better thereby widening the gap with us.

That was stand out moment too. Not just because he pulled the ball so effortlessly out of the sky, but because he was prepared to go that deep in the first place. Looked every inch a prem player

Yes, hard to disagree with any of that.

The only bright spot is they were totally on their knees. We even kept them afloat by paying 500k for Warnock I recall. It shows its possible to come back strong.

What really stood out to me was that the Palace players trust him.

"He's got two men in his area? Doesn't matter, he will keep hold of the ball & lay it off or go past them."

I think he may have to wait a bit before he starts matches, but he will use that time to further his football education.

Even the third kit is decent. B'stards.
