You really are joking. To even include wwe in the same sentence as these two legends, get a grip and show some respect for goodness sake. You're talking about the youngest man ever to win the heavyweight title and a former olympic medalist. Even if i do take your point.

It will be an absolute honour and privilege to watch these two great warriors again, irrespective of how it goes. If i have to predict, Tyson will take him out.

Hmmm, having read more about the details, you guys might be right. Bugger. I hadn't realised quite what the rules were, it is sounding dodgy.

Hope they do go for it legitimately, otherwise it is indeed a bloody waste of time. I'll be gutted.

I which case i'm inlined to agree, rematch it'll be.

What a shame this is happening, I'll be swerving it with a total lack of interest.

Thank you very much but I'll carry on fondly remembering Mike Tyson as an utter beast when he burst on the scene all them years ago. He scared the cack out of me just looking at him (from the safety of behind my front room sofa) he was a machine. a scary human mean MOFO of a machine.

'Iron'

RIP Cus D'Amato

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Without doubt one of the finest posts on LFT on a long time fair play to you Ted.
Once Cus died and that snake Don King wriggled his way in it was the begining of the end and led to King and his scum lining their pockets on the sweat and blood of Tyson.
He kept on winning of course and accumulated money but without his "Father Cus "he was manipulated in such a sad way.
He won most of his fights on entering the ring dressed in black shorts with no socks and no robes just a lean mean destroying machine .The best ever IMO and I will be avoiding this cluster fu*k tonight also.

Hopefully it will be more of a contest as every time they have reminded Tyson it’s an exhibition or there should be no attempts at a knock out he has told them to f*ck off
Not sure if it is still 2 minute rounds either but when he was told his response was f*ck off that’s for women!

I remember reading an article about Tyson the day that Bruno first fought for the title against Witherspoon. I think it was the Daily Mail boxing correspondent and he said in all his years of covering boxing he had never seen anything as ferocious as Tyson and that included covering Sonny Listons fights

Tyson, without any doubt my favourite boxer

too smart for Tyson! Thoughts?

Sorry, but for me a peak Tyson just too quick and powerful and also was never given the credit he deserved for a superb defence, the way he ducked and dived, I don't think that even a peak Ali would be able to keep him off.

There was never a heavyweight like Tyson. So angry, born to fight. Most boxers train to get better, he trained to reduce the risk of killing opponents.

Watching the first three rounds of Dubois v Joyce, neither of these two would have lasted two rounds with 21 year old Tyson

Sorry, but this is pathetic, do either of these two know how to throw punches with menace? SO slow and ponderous and arm punches. AJ or Fury could beat the pair of these on the same night

Have you seen him hitting those bags though Ted? Wow, still looks like he could knock ya thirty yards. Again, i take your point, but still...the chance to see him one more time...just can't wait. I just love watching him.

The death of Cus was the death of Tyson really. Left him exposed to the vultures and the leeches.

I'm struggling to see any logic here. The best boxer we've ever had to watch fighting Roy Jones, and that's not of interest?

Are you guys assuming he'd be old and shot? Have you been watching him training?

Bottom line, if Tyson ever wants to fight, i'll be watching. I owe him that much at least. You'd have to kill me to stop me watching it.

I can't help but thinking of Rocky III, when Rocky adopted Ali's "Rope a dope" tactic against Mr T. Ali was the complete heavyweight, he had everything in his arsenal. Have a look at videos of his fights in the 60s, he had very quick hands for a heavyweight, and his movement was on a different level to anyone else at the time.

Tyson, in the pre-King era, was pure aggression personified. It wasn't subtle, just unfiltered brutality.

I reckon Ali would have taken the initial blows, tired Tyson out, then out-boxed him to win.

Love to see it.

And Tyson's technique was very good. Not Aliesque obviously, but a lot more than just purely aggression. He's a proper boxer.

You'd have to kill me. Plus, of course, it's bleddy boiling over here, i'm not wearing anything but my own skin.

Ps Trying to figure out if that's a really nasty comment or a tasteless joke. I'm putting it down as a joke, because you're usually quite humorous. Joking about murdering 17 million beautiful innocent creatures, each with their own distinct personalities that never did anybody any harm...doesn't really seem that funny to me. Shouldn't think they found it that funny at the time. Deeply, deeply distressing to me, i cried my eyes out.

I love animals, absolutely love them, hence my cat sanctuary. I have 12 strays, love each one like my own child. One of my cats was called Tyson, RIP, another Bruno, another Buakaw and another Saenchi. I'd probably kill 17 million Danes first. Love Iron Mike and boxing too. Somewhat incongruous, i suppose, but not sure they need to be mutually exclusive. Lest we not forget, Mike Tyson's passion is keeping his pet Pigeons.

As a 46 year old who's been training for more than three decades, i find this whole thing very inspirational and i wish both men all the best. Wouldn't be surprised to hear that this match has motivated hundreds of thousands of people across the world to resume training. Tyson lost 100 lb, 45 kg for this fight. Admirable in and of itself.

Just to watch Iron Mike make the walk one more time will give me goosebumps. Hoping for the traditional all-black ensemble. I owe it to them to watch.

Ps It'll be happening soon, anybody who wants to can watch this piece of Human history as the legendary 5'10 inch youngest ever heavyweight champion of the world takes on his toughest opponent yet in fight Father Time, can easily do so free of charge on Hesgoal (allegedly).

http://www.hesgoal.com/news/69181/Boxing_-_Mike_Tyson_vs_Roy_Jones_Jr.html

Pps not to mention an NBA star against a youtuber, which i think we can all agree is a legitimate classic, ahem.

I think Dubois made the right decision. He’s young and no point risking his long term future. Plenty of time for him to recover and bounce back.

I did wonder about the age different pre fight as Joyce is 36 and Dubois 24. Maybe too soon for Dubois against such an experienced boxer.

I think you're probably right, but it's not a great sign to see him quit like that. Overall a very disappointing fight, I'd really been looking forward to this, but they were just too slow and ponderous.

Saying that Dubois is only 24 just highlights again just how incredible Tyson was, winning the title at just 20 and destroying seasoned former world champions

Tyson really wasnt tested that much in his career imo. His first 15 fights were journeymen and then he fought some older big names in their decline.
He was explosive and such, and great to watch but c'mon who did he fight that was a great fighter and knock the sh1te out of them? No one.

Poll: Serious concern we'll double drop?

Tyson vs Jones on 19:04 - Nov 29 with 773 viewsToast_R

Agree. His reputation went well before him. Most fighters were beat before the first bell went. A bullyboy with inspired intimidation. Take him in to the middle rounds and beyond though which inevitably happened, he punched himself out and got found out. As soon as someone wasn't intimidated like Buster D, the whole situation changed. I'd imagine the smart mind and technical ability of Ali would have completely embarassed him.

That Joyce vs Dubois fight was one of the worst British heavyweight fights ever, embarrassing , it really was awful , I’ve seen girl pillow fights more savage than that
It made herbie hide vs Michael Bent look like hearns/hagler

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore
