A friend of mine is a bit of a multi talented fella. He is a Dr. of his profession, has written more books than I’ve read, is a keen archer, has kept bees and recently sent me a video of him playing the bag pipes!!

I feel like a bit of a talentless fella compared to him but got me wondering, what talents you lot or people you know may have, hidden or not?

I'm good at that, but I've never been awarded a medal for it, or even congratulated.

I recently won 'Medieval Total war 2' as the Byzantines on normal level.

Those who knows this game will know that makes me a Total War Arch-Strategos.

Guderian of the cataphracts if you like.

That is impressive indeed.

I gave up on ranked, so many random free xp, low win rate (as the mighty Claus Kellerman would say) "Muppets" playing.

I have no idea about either of the games that you are both on about.

I bought the kids (cough, cough) a PS4 and purchased FIFA 21 over Xmas. My god that game has evolved! Addictive beyond belief with ways to hook you in for hours and days. I have needed to wean myself off it on the first week back at work.

I used to play Subway Surfers on the tube and on train & plane journeys. Got good at it and got the top weekly UK score multiple times.

Got bored with it (a high score needs 1 hour +) and moved to Headball 2. I'm in the world's top 1,000 but can't get any further.

New ranked meta in play now. The 'random unga-bungas' (see Daniel Rusev) get much shorter shrift. My tier 8 weapon of choice is the Oland with 14 point captain (rpf and concealment expert), tier 9 FDG and 10 Salem and Yamato (not the ARP either, cheeky)

Nice.

I checked a Tirpitz's stats the other day as he was sat at the back as usual and I needed him to die.

Straight to tier 4 no learning to play, 44% win rate at it, about the same at 5 then buys a Tirpitz 450 games (total of 500) in it 42% rate. ave damage 16000!

I had to wait about 8 mins for that bastard to die

As a 7 year old, swam a wole ten yards across the width of my local swimming pool, dived to the bottom of the deep end ( 6ft) collected a rubber brick and surfaced without a hint of drowning.

My reward was a piece of red ribbon to sew onto my trunks, still to this day coud not figure out why I was not selected for the 1964 Tokyo GB Olympic team.

As an ex-sailor in the Royal Navy, people cannot fathom that I am a terrible swimmer. I remind them that the idea is to stay on the boat although we did have to pass a swim test which involved swimming a few lengths and treading water whilst wearing overalls.

After I left the Navy I ended up in Belfast. In my infinite wisdom, I decided to apply for a job as a lifeguard at a council swimming pool in Bagnor. For the interview/test, I had to swim six lengths, 2 x freestyle, 2 x butterfly and 2 x recovery stroke, which is basically on your side. I set off like Phelps but by the second length had blown a gasket and was knackered. Never swam butterfly or recovery stroke and have not since. Erik the Eel comes to mind...

It got worse, second part, I had to swim recovery stroke but this time with a person! The person was quite an attractive female who was also going for a job. Well, I was so bad, poor girl was trying to help but it made little difference.

To top it all, I had only eaten a banana for breakfast and by a mixture of extreme fatigue and embarrassment, I threw it up. Fortunately, I felt it coming and had excused myself to go to the toilet.

Last one was the dive down challenge and collect the dummy body. Not sure why they let me carry on, pure hilarity probably, and I am not sure I managed to collect the body but think I told them that I had 'touched it'

Did not get the job.
