Thats a shame, they were in danger of becoming likeable last season with all those young players but then went back to buying tons of players and are quickly back to the old chelsea again, seeing them struggle in mid table has been one of the few joys of this season

I think the only reason that Frank was "all about the yoof" is the transfer embargo, wasn't it?

It's been really entertaining watching lumplard squirm in front of the cameras - it's actually a shame he's going because I was convinced he was going to take them to the heady heights of their worst finish in many years... I'd prefer they kept him in the position failing miserably....

Yep. Only played them because he had to.

Seems an odd thing to do without my hate the scum hat on. The joy of all this is that through the ownership they are generally miles behind City, Liverpool, Leicester and Utd. Zidane? He'd be mad to go there.

Never knowingly right.

Nothing against the guy. Seems ridiculous to sack him, the guy they're lining up has been sacked by PSG.

Leave off Dave the bloke takes after his uncle a proper schyster
Should of got that Derby team up but didn’t
This myth of playing the youth and being plucky underdogs is laughable , they have one of the best youth teams in Europe and a squad of around 60 players
He had the Europa league champions and got them forth (just) and lost to arsenal in the fa cup
He then spent 250 million to be even lower down the league
He is the new Bryan Robson of football management , every where he will go he will be Sh1t

I think Chelscum should get Mark Hughes in to take them back to where they belong.

Stupid sacking if it happens imo. Did a good job last season. The way the prem is this year, three wins or losses sends you shooting up or down the table. Typical Abramovich knee-jerk reaction. He won't be long getting fixed up again. Newcastle perhaps, at the end of the season?

Obviously a limited coach and (unlike Solskjaer) a surprisingly poor man-manager to boot, but hard not to sympathise with him trying to change the culture and getting splatted by the politics over his head and the whispering of expensive flops he hadn't signed before and didn't want to sign during.

Probably would have been better off with Tarkowski/Dunk and Rice like he wanted. That being said he wasn't great with Tomori and Hudson-Odoi either.

From the BBC website, The Russian has apparently paid £110million in manager payoffs.

Before today.

oh yeah that was obvious and the way they dumped them all for new shiny things felt satisfying and a big mistake. If he'd stuck with them they'd have been much better off

I meant it's a shame he's going as they'll probably improve now

I wasn't suggesting he was any good as manager but the kids they had in the side were quite good to watch so I quite enjoyed seeing them all dumped as soon as money became available and then seeing it go tits up

Agreed. I was quite enjoying the job fat Frank was doing. Tuchel’s a half decent manager and will probably get more out of their squad so I’m not celebrating too much.

Let's face it over the years there have been very few top level former English footballers that have turned into top class managers that have made a success of managing at the highest level.

Will be very interesting to see how he gets on - Tuchel is a top class coach but Conte-style pain in the arse, which already got him booted from the Dortmund and PSG gigs.
