Last night I think we were forced.
Birmingham, and to a certain extent Preston, it seems we felt forced by the conditions, though I think we're a bit guilty of talking ourselves into that sometimes. Coventry play good football at St Andrew's no problem.

We need that 50/50 ball in the opposition penalty area then Charlie will really thrive .Give the man a supply let him deliver .
Look at Spurs they have asked Harry Kane to run basically the entire length of the field (bullsh*t) IMO and his goalscoring is way down and has already been out for 6 weeks .?

Change of formation and personnel.
When playing 4 at the back, we had 4 offensive players, so 3 in behind the striker.
Since going to the 3-4-3 we’ve moved an extra player into the defensive area, until we have the ball. For the first half dozen games in the system all you could here Warburton screaming was “shape, shape DOM shape”. I’m guessing some of that was a bit of teaching them a new system and trying to get Ball not to keep following the ball around the pitch, which he has a tendency to do. He seems to be sitting better now (no stupid tackles in recent weeks cos he’s the wrong side of play), but it makes the press more difficult with one less player up there. | | | |

Even with the caveat of Bristol City being really poor, did catch myself admiring the standard of our general play and wondering when the last time we took care of the ball this well was?
We almost overplayed it a few times and got ourselves into trouble but that happens to even the very best teams and it's lovely to watch when it works as it did today. | |
