When do the crowds return, and will competition be delayed to wait for them?

Limerick and Dublin favourites again, I presume?

Any Covid issues as a holidaymake?

I am just desperate to get over for a week, but a little worried how I might be viewed as someone coming from England potentially bringing the dreaded Delta.

Bit of a queue getting off the boat for us but that was it. Only being able to eat and drink outside was no hardship last week except the reduced capacity made it difficult to get into places. The weather is breaking, but indoor service should be allowed from tomorrow, not sure how many places will take it up. Our local here won’t open, doesn’t have the ability to circulate and doesn’t want to have to turn the locals away.

Plenty of English accents out here. Even saw a hooped shirt disappear into the staff area at Cahersiveen SuperValu!

Cheers Sheen. I don't care about the weather, but I may fly instead. Just need a bit of R&R. As long as English accents are not frowned upon for Covid reasons, I think I'll get over in a few weeks.

Not to my face, so far! Plenty of English born people live out here anyway, that it would be hard to pick on anyone. I’ve even heard a few German and Italian voices, but they might live here too, who knows. Most people wear masks routinely except for a few old boys. The pubs were letting older people sit inside out of the sun too yesterday, lesser evil for health reasons, and would be legal today.

I noticed that the connaught final was played at croke Park yesterday in order to squeeze more people in to
bigger venue.
Strange decision to drag thousands of people 150 miles to another part of the country in the middle of a pandemic.
I'm all for relaxing restrictions as I haven't been to Ireland for 18 odd months but I thought that was strange.

Must admit, although I'm delighted to be able to get back and see Rangers this season, it seems a bit odd to me that away fans haven't been banned for the time being. Maybe even the home fans travel from so far and wide, it wouldn't make much difference.

I haven’t had any negative comments either
But then again my accent schlips pretty quickly the minute I am off the plane 😊
From what I have seen during the last 10 days there is hardly ever anyone in a shop without a mask on them, certainly more adherence than I have seen during the last month at home.

At the same time we were at a local championship semi final match on Sunday and a squad car pulled in and was watching the crowd which was clearly well over the supposed 200 limit for matches but they said nothing.

So Cork v Dublin on Saturday but I will be missing that as I hope to be back in HQ to welcome Leicester U23s

Poll: With no leg room, knees killing me, do I just go now or stay for the 2nd half o?

Was lucky to get a ticket for the Clare v Cork game yesterday, great game, very close at the end and thank God our tickets got us in the stand with the cover over it. We were taking to other lads from Castlelyons after the match who were in the open stand and they said the heat was savage.

Only downside of an otherwise fantastic day was the fact that there was nowhere to buy water inside the stadium which you would have thought would be a health and safety concern in that heat.

Unreal weather in Cork since we arrived last Saturday. 3 hurling matches in the first week, 4th game of golf tomorrow morning and trips to the beach. Incredible holiday after years of me bitching on here about going to Cork every year to sit and watch the rain.

If it was like this every year there is no better place in the world for a holiday🤗

Brilliant game of hurling A40Bosh and I enjoyed it despite another exit from Clare at this stage for a lot of years in a row now.
Cork were dominating and should have banged in a couple of more goals but the true beauty of hurling came at the end when Tony Kelly had the winning of it on his hurley and the keeper pulled off an incredible brave save to send Cork through. They meet Dublin now so a path to the final four is there for them.
Glad you had fun and Ireland has some magic left for visitors .In a hot summer I think its one of the most beautiful places in the World

My wife accidentally discovered she was required to get another Covid test about four days before she boarded a flight back today. No fcking notification from airline (Aer Fungus), govt, or board of health. Because of the lateness, she had to call around and eventually found a doc in Kilkenny who would test herself and one of my girls for 120 euro each. No test, no flight. This, another random change of plan by elected officials who proverbially, can't run a piss up in a brewery(probably because they voted to shut said establishment down). Another money scam.

That's theft/blackmail pure and simple. Covid tests are advertised (on the government's own website) as free. Even if you had to pay, the absolute max is €60. I would make an official complaint if I were you

Being an Irishman , I can tell as nation we are generous and greedy in equal measures. I have first hand experience of it!!
2 weeks in Greece works out far cheaper than one week in Ireland.

Caahersiveen is (sort of ) Brian's neck of the woods.Although he may not wish to reference Kerry in any shape or form after last Sunday (sorry Brian - as a long standing sufferer of being hammered by Mayo, I feel your pain)

Jesus, Myke, a lot of hits there in quick succession!

No, I know no-one over that part of Kerry. I was in Killarney today, though. A few green flags about, I noticed. I suppose they were supporting Ireland in The Olympics.

That was a dreary Leinster football final. Are the Dubs really on the slide or are they just waiting for more of a challenge?

I was waiting for them to increase the tempo of their play yesterday, to pull away from Kildare in an emphatic manner. But it never really happened as would have been the case a couple of years ago. So can they do that to teams this season if they need to? We still don't know.

The Dublin defence looked vulnerable too. Kildare had plenty of unconverted scoring chances. A better side would have exploited those opportunities.

Is complacency a factor? Probably. Is the same hunger and drive in evidence as was the case a few years ago? Probably not. Are they good enough to win the All Ireland this year? Yes. Will they? I think they're vulnerable this season and may not recover from a slow start against one of the elite teams.

11 Leinster titles in a row - and they've only not won it one year since 2005. Where's the competition gone?

It was a poor game. Credit to Kildare for restricting Dublin as much as they did while creating several (unconverted) chances themselves. I think the Meath and Kildare games indicate that Dublin may not quite be the force they were. Whether Mayo after two facile victories and one decent half game of football can capitalise, time will tell. My (hypothetical) money is on Kerry

Don't forget they only beat Wexford by 8 points in the Quarter Final.

They just look to be a team going through the motions, perhaps a bit bored by the inevitability of Leinster. They don't look like the juggernaut of the last six years. That's not to say they won't rise to a challenge if it's put to them. I personally don't think Mayo believe they can beat them, but like you I fancy Kerry do, and might just have the hunger to win it this year.
