Brilliant interview.

If you were ever in doubt about him coming back...

Never knowingly right.

Arise Sir Chaz.

Before our eyes an ambassador, champion of our cause, emerged. That first stint with us certainly did something to our Charlie.

He loves us and mentioned a couple of times how much his family loves us as well.

It was a great interview but I felt his comments on returning next season were naturally quite guarded. I'd expect the talks to be all about wages/bonuses and how many years we're prepared to give him. I'm still unsure he's coming back.

More ccktease content from the club.

Would be great if he did come back permanently but in the end I don't think it will happen. Stuff like this doesn't help!

This Chaz plus Nick's typical grandly inane "how hard... was it... to stub your toe and fall down a well?" interview style almost felt like they were doing an Inside the Actors Studio bit.

Fading to black at the end was a particularly nice touch lol.

As Lee works FOR the owners, I doubt that will be the case!

He's a great personality, love to keep him, but my impression is the contract situation is at a bit of an impasse.

Reading between the lines he's saying - I've come down a long way - probably to say £20k a week, and now the club need to come up - probably from £15k a week.

Admittedly I've made this all up... but, you know... intuition?

I agree with you. I think its close, but I am not entirely sure it will happen and probably the financial reality may just go against us. If we tie up the funding in Charlie it may mean we don't get Stefan. The latter has to be our priority.

Never knowingly understood

"Did a volley in training the other day, casual, thought nothing of it. The gaffer said afterwards everyone stayed out after trainng trying to copy me... Of course they couldn't and I didn't even think anything of it, just a volley top bins - whatever - but yeah, that's the kind of thing you see...."

Charlie is playing a blinder with how he's going about this. Saying all the right things and engaging, likes, RTs, etc all QPR content. Keeping in the forefront of our minds. Creating a 'if we can't get a deal done, it's not because of me' narrative. It's almost reaching a point where the club have no choice but to sign him.

I 100% believe we should do what we can to bring him back permanently, but not at the risk of hamstringing the club.

My take is that a deal is close, he is really happy to be here, and he is just continuing in his normal "Austin being happy" way on social media. I have a hard time believing that if he did not think a deal would happen, he would keep pumping into QPR media.

I don't think Charlie has ever moved house since they got together and had kids, has he? Southampton and West Brom he commuted to training.

Bit of a "cakeist" philosophy from Charlie though, I think. As in have cake and eat it. He wants to play for QPR and also wants to be paid the same as he could get anywhere else.
