Sent from the Crown, but obviously written from LFW Towers.

Hopefully you finished the write up last night Clive so that it didn't interfere with your pre match ritual!

Thank you Clive. More importantly, thank you to the club management & Stefan Johansen for making us all so happy this evening.

COME ON MY TEAM!

Just a thought, but maybe the fact he's signed a 3-year contract means we've promised him we won't do a "Hughes/Redknapp/Joorabchian/Fernandes-style trolley dash" if we go up?

If so, that'd be more good news as personally I'd rather come back down than that.

Some points, in no particular order:

Sometimes, things just seem right. I don’t know when I last said this about a QPR signing, possibly never.

This now completes the 4/4 permanent signings of last mid-season’s loan arrivals. More knowledgeable people than me go on about the spine of the side. These four have emphatically improved ours.

I like Clive’s comparison to some previous midfielders but when comparing SJ to last year’s starter LTC, there really is no comparison. Our improvement in form, second half of last season was no fluke.

‘It could be argued in hindsight that a Championship team with Ebere Eze, Nahki Wells, Jordan Hugill and Bright Osayi-Samuel to pick from in attack should have done rather better in 2019/20 than it actually did’ - hindsight for some maybe!

Really shrewd move offer someone at this stage of his career a 3-year deal. As Nedum Onuoha has pointed out, this really matters (more than perhaps the level of wages) as players move past 30.

Well done to all at the club involved in getting this signing over the line. Could not be happier.

Slightly miffed that I missed out on today, but will be at Cambridge on Tuesday. Can’t wait!

I'm being so doom and gloom because this summer seems way too good to be true other than Field's injury. But. John Gregory in charge. We're doomed. Brings in a centre back (Cullip) and a midfielder (Bolder), and while we rather just about edged away from relegation then rather than kicking relegation in the balls and making it watch while we give mid-table a thorough seeing to now, we were all delighted when those two loans became perms.
Everyone tipped Bolder as POTY, and he was made captain.
Both were, it has to be said, pretty dire the next season, and were gone soon after.
But this is totally different, isn't it?

Bare bones.

Clive, I haven't read the great news yet, still celebrating a wonderful performance, does it get any better than this?

What gives me most reason to hope this is going to be a great season was how comfortable we were on the ball today not panicking or rushing, it was a joy to behold.

The squad looks ready for top 6 but it is a tough division like you say and an injury to Charlie or Lyndon looks the biggest concern.

One more loan striker could be needed as and when but I think there is massive cause for optimism based on our performance today and Warbs careful squad building.

Yes.

A Rangers legend that scores wherever he plays and a player I hadn’t fully appreciated until seeing his brilliance last season and whose previous clubs fans all rave about. I think it’s fair to say you can’t compare Adam Bolder and Danny Cullip with these guys.

Of all the players, this is the one. The difference between a top 6 challenge and a solid mid table efffort. Getting serious...?! Damn right.

Today we looked very comfortable on the ball, it would appear the momentum from last season is continuing and confidence is high. We look a very capable team, Mark Warburton and his team are doing a great job. Now with Stef Johansen with us that midfield will purr with productivity. Thought Willock was brilliant today, looks very strong on the ball. De wijs, Dickie and Barbet really got that back line together. Interesting to see how we do against Leicester City, think they will be a tougher game. We are on the up.

Great line.

Yes agree about Leicester - said last week I thought that would be the better (wrong!), tougher (right?) game.

Signings - From MW on the offy - Moses is a done deal but no more unless anybody leaves - who would want to leave?!!!!!

Also agree with above, ideally we could do with another forward as cover but that's being greedy and probably unrealistic - no one older/better than Kelman is going to come to just sit on the bench.

Great article.

The main thing for me is to get back into Loftus Road and show this team the support they've been missing the past season. In terms of expectations I just want us to play the exciting and competitive football we saw the second half of last season. If the result comes in great. From what I've seen/read/heard I think we'll be in for an enjoyable season. That said, if we do hit a rough patch can we please try not to shit the bed!

Thanks for the write up, Clive. As said, I really did not think this most important of the 4 loan signings would happen. It's effectively '3.75/4' if you factor in the Field injury until, say, late-November. Not going to make any bold predictions just yet but, if Moses becomes a reality too, this is all definitely looking really positive. Can't ask the club to do any more.

Everything everyone else has said.

Dozell was impressive in that mainly defensive midfield role yesterday. If we play Willock as second forward, how do we fit two left footers in with Chair who likes to come in from the left? Getting that bit balanced will be a challenge between now and August 7th.

I can't sere us getting a loan striker as they would be expected to play and they will be 3rd choice here. We have Kelman and Thomas who can be decent back up this season

I do agree with you Dave but I've a feeling that we'll sign another striker at some point. Kelman will probably be 4th striker.
