The hope and expectations are rising rapidly. Let's pray that the hopes aren't dashed and the expectations unrealistic. On that note, a few words of caution 1) It was a pre-season friendly. Primarily a fitness exercise rather than the competitive slog that starts on August 7 2) Most of that United team will spend the next 9 months warming the bench, at best.
Even so, it was an encouraging performance and result. Given the way we finished last season, the Summer transfer dealings and the fact that so many Championship clubs are teetering on the edge of crises, there's no reason why this QPR side cannot challenge at the top end of the table.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the Earth all one’s lifetime. (Mark Twain)

So nice to read one of your match reports about a game I've actually attended once again.
Like Rangers you've started the season build up very impressively with an excellent match report. I absolutely loved the line about Mata only coming on in the second half, in case he had to take a corner at the Loft End again!
I'm still buzzing after Saturday's performance in the most enjoyable pre-season friendly I've ever attended. Felt there was a good intensity to the game and some of our football was very pleasing on the eye, with Willock my MOTM. Can't wait for the season to start!

I loved the 22.6 average age for our finishing eleven. It is actually 21.5 (I've refused to round up) plus Albert! I would imagine that Greenwood would have a higher vuluation than our squad in it's entirity, but that's the end of my sniping at manure!
I've only seen the highlights (keeping myself free for the Millwall game), but that was enough to confirm that we can really play. I'm pleased that it is MW & not myself who has to work out who is in the starting team & who is on the bench! How can you play Johansen, Dozell, Chair, Willock, Austin & Dykes in the same side unless reverting to a back four?
This is the most excited I've been pre season apart from the Jago & Venables eras!

Cheers Clive Love your work
First win over Man Utd since that famous win on New Years Day 1992 albeit it was a friendly
We have only beaten Man Utd 6 times out of 53 competitive games (with 13 draws and 34 defeats).

Of course, don't really expect us to have the lion's share of wins against the likes of Man U but 6 out of 53 is still a pretty low return. Oh well, we'll just keep beating Chelsea instead
I was there for 5 of the 6 missed when we won 4 0 (Had to google it) any idea who scored ?the last game for George Best on New Years Day was my Xmas Present that year and remember the Johnny Byrne special on the plastic pitch and it kicking off in the White City afterwards
