Gaffer on tonight's win 23:17 - Aug 24 with 1280 viewsbosh67

Nice to see the gaffer thank the fans for their backing. It will be interesting to see what the situation was with the 4 subs tonight. I heard there has been a bit of a Covid outbreak but I could be wrong. That said, to be forced to only have 4 subs is down to something almost certainly beyond the manager's control.

Never knowingly right.

The 4 sub? Just before the end of the transfer window? Just sayin.......

The Rangers fans were great and just as well. The Oxford fans were making a lot of noise before the game and for the first 20 minutes.

Seemed to quieten down after that. In the 2nd half, when they were coming back into the game we managed to drown them out.

Comms pointed out that we couldn't pick any of the U-23 players as they are in a different COVID bubble and medical considerations prevented it, so he only had 15 players available to him.

Ah OK didn't know that.

So Wallace was out with his hammy, De Wijs with his ankle. Amos & Field out longer term.

Presumably Barbet, Dykes, Dieng, Johansen, Austin etc were being rested for Saturday.

We know that Dykes is recovering from chest infection and Austin is carrying a knock which needs rest. Johansen has probably played more than they wanted given he didn't get the full preseason with us. Barbet and Dieng certainly being rested, Think Amos is potentially still in different Covid bubble as he steps up to full training - suspect we will start to see him return to the squad next month if he keeps progressing.

Never knowingly understood

Don't think Amos IS in the U23 bubble, he's been training with 1st team since start of the season.

That was my assumption with the players - the only ones I wasn't sure of was Adomah and Barbet, but the latter moving to wing back / full back on Saturday might have forced the need for a rest and Albert got a good whack at the end of the Barnsley game which again might have caused an issue and stopped him being included.

Hopefully we're back to near enough a full compliment on Saturday and post intl break, I'd expect to start seeing Amos on the bench and involved in the 3rd round game
