Josh King scores, what he thinks is a, last minute winner for Watford and removes his shirt etc.

VAR then utilised and Australian super ref Jarred Gillett disallows the goal.

According to the BBC match stats King is not yellow carded???

This is a great example of people being sheep. How did footballers manage to keep their shirts on after scoring for 120 years, but suddenly no fuc ker can manage it even though they know they will be booked. It’s just a bizarre, entirely contrived reaction. If I was a manager and one of my players took their shirt off and got booked, I’d run onto the pitch, twa t them in the face with a frying pan, and then boot them up the ar se. Silly so ds.

So, in response to the OP, the booking should stand, he should be fined a year’s wages, and made to play football in 50 shirts piled one on top of the other, the attention-seeking, narcissistic clown!

Thanks Konk. Completely agree. Another thing that probably came in with the Premier League. Was Ravanelli the first to do it?

Back to the question though, King wasn't booked, so is it only an offence if a legitimate goal is scored and you are the goal scorer?

You being a Fulham fan, I assume the frying pan in question would be a Le Creuset. That's got to bloody hurt!

Took his shirt off! My god what next, female players shorts? You see players try to break legs, heads with no card or even a free kick given sometimes, but celebrating a goal by taking off your shirt FFS, 70 years in the Tower is clearly needed for such immoral indecency. A Viking toò, make it 170 years.

Absolutely stupid law - argue about it with Mrs PP all the time, BUT strictly speaking as per the law, yes he should have been booked.

Just another example of where top referees ignore the law when it suits I'm afraid.

If it didn’t carry a booking, I wouldn’t give a toss, but seeing as it does, it’s one of the more pointlessly stupid things you can do on the pitch. Nowhere else in the world, is the natural reaction to elation, to take your shirt off - you don’t see it in other sports and it never happened in football. I’m against all contrived celebrations - if you’re the emotional sort you wanna run round roaring and crying for ten minutes after scoring an equaliser at North Ferriby - fine by me as I love a bit of raw emotion, but ffs keep your shirt on.

Do you get booked if you remove a different article, like your shorts? Or even if you put on an article - say, a top hat, tails and cane and do a Fred Astaire impression to celebrate instead. I'm sure there must be a You Are the Ref panel that explains this.

With all that’s going on in the world and what’s looming large, this is not an issue to get your boxers in a twist over. I suggest that if you are so entangled, get yourself down the gym, get a six-pack, and join Ronnie, Mo and myself the next time one of us notches.

Thanks Pinner. Maybe Mr Jarrett felt sorry for him so decided not to heap on the misery with a booking.

I agree it's a silly law. It would be preferable to have laws that speeded up the game. Something like, the game restarts 30 seconds after a goal has been given, whether the players are ready of not. Throw ins taken from the wrong place or taking more than fifteen seconds, awarded to the opposition. However, I guess it wouldn't be long before our senior refs decided to start ignoring them, like they have done with the goalkeeper holding onto the ball.

Obviously, I’m a big fan of Le Creuset (they’re a joy to wash-up), but for face-panning purposes, a Tefal would probably suffice. Kinder on the wrists.

Irony being what it is, I am working off the kitchen table and can spot a Le Creuset in the kitchen sink.

I do appreciate the old adage of workers/tools etc. however, I popped into a local kitchenware shop to discuss the aforementioned pot. Upshot: Le C outsourced making their pots to Asia a few years back and quality is perceived to have gone with them.

Alas, my phish poor French did not allow me to take umbrage (some pots still in the UK were equally moody at cooking without burning). However, it seems some French suppliers are reconsidering stocking Le C because of the complaints their getting.

In contrast, bought a 20€ Tefal pan and there's no 'would probably suffice' about it. Its like a rippling six-pack revealed after notching a winner in the last seconds of extra time! Le C may well find itself on Le Ebay if it doesn't sort itself out tout bloody dam de suite.

There we go

"A player must be cautioned, even if the goal is disallowed, for:
- climbing onto a perimeter fence and/or approaching the spectators in
a manner which causes safety and/or security issues
- acting in a provocative, derisory or inflammatory way
- covering the head or face with a mask or other similar item
- removing the shirt or covering the head with the shirt"

Think that's covered by the 2nd point of the law - see above.

As per LOTG, Throw ins taken from the wrong place SHOULD be awarded to the opposition!

I remember that coming in years ago but I thought it had reverted to the previous, didn't realise it was still in the laws.

Think I recently saw a ref in an England match award a throw to the other team after, either taking it from the wrong place or according to the commentary because they took too long over it.

Did Adomah get booked for serenading the fans, or was he there so long the ref had gone home?

Anyone know the clip in a recent game where a player takes his shorts off and puts them on his head. Pretty sure he got booked.
