A game that is far from over this one......Derby only lost 5 games all season, same as us, turn a few draws (they have had 10 so far) into wins and they sitting comfortable in mid table. Never an easy place to go and play BUT, we should have enough to get 3 points. Especially, with all the injuries that Norf mentions in his write up of the game.

Superb write up Clive, but I expect there are still quite a few Derby fans that would dispute evry word of your excellent summary.

I understand that HMRC had started proceedings against DCFC prior to Covid, but it must have taken a long time for the debt to have reached that total. I also think that the NIC payments that were deducted from the staff will not count on the individual's record. Thereby, a 21 year old may not have any contributing record in their working life. IMO this is a criminal act & Morris should face trial by jury for the actions he has willfully taken.

As to the match, this will be difficult, but no matter what, we will enter December in the play off positions.

Brilliant write up, thank you Clive.

Agree with Gazza, think it will be a tough game tomorrow night. Here’s hoping for 3 more precious points!

An excellent summation not only of Derby's and others' malpractice but of the utter mess football in this country has got itself into.

As Mrs dmm used to regularly say to our eldest son, you should be a lawyer!

Excellent journalism Clive, horrifying read for any football fan, (hope Tracey Crouch gets a look at this).

The sad thing, (as you say) it will happen again.

Be interested to see if this gets any traction on the Derby forums, and if it does, if those most militant are finally willing to accept they were wrong on Mel's Magic, or if it is everyone else's fault still.

Brilliant stuff Clive. It's very rare that I get judgemental about things regarding football in this country without looking at my own club (and others) and realising we're just as bad. Derby however I feel deserve everything they're getting and more. Forget points deductions they fully deserve relegation for what they've done and I hope we stuff them.

I've watched a few Derby games on tv this season and Tom Lawrence looks like a decent player.

I think Derby were quite lucky to beat Bournemouth the other day.
Not only that they went all Preston like once they took the lead with more than 20 minutes to go. Loads of diving, feigning injury and time wasting. Ref only added 5 minutes should have been at least 10.

Overall probably a reasonable mid table team.
Decent at home (only lost one - P9 W3 D5 L1) and not so good away (only won one P10 - W1 D5 L4)

Come on we've all seen this one before - a chance to go 3rd, at a ground traditionally we do well at, unbeaten in November (!!). We all know what's going to happen.

Fantastic preview, thanks Clive.

It feels like there are more clubs about now who have learned lessons and are trying to do things 'properly', but the possibility of an Oyston or a Morris is just ever present.

absolutely nailed on we won't score tonight. If we do, and we win, I think things are finally 'different'

Bare bones.

Think this will be an evening of them sitting in and frustrating and us either taking or fluffing the few chances we get.

I see the next 4 games are the same teams in the same order as the final four games of the season - no idea how often that's happened before.

Agree 100% about the governance or lack of it, but making owners/shareholders personally responsible would mean changing the law of the land and 'abolishing' limited companies.

Even if that were possible, if it happened, that's UK PLC broke as no one would ever want to set up a company here.

Brilliant stuff. Well if you ever get fed up running this place Clive I suggest you apply for a job at Private Eye!

Fascinating article Clive.

I've just bought Kieran Maguire's book the 'Price of Football' and plan to read it over the Xmas break to try and get a better understanding of how football finance works. It does amaze me how some Club Owner's get away with 'daylight robbery' and the lack of proper scrutiny from the Football authorities.

With regard to the match I do think this could be the one where our scoring run comes to an end and might have a few quid on 0-0. Hope I'm wrong and we can snatch a win, but interesting that Derby are slight favourites on Betfair.
