Given a further year on his contract. I'm a little surprised given his injury record but it may reflect the fact club has little in the way of spare cash for new players.

We have the same convo every year. He is a good player when he is fit - sadly he never is

Hard to understand

Not ever done amazing anywhere and never managed much for ourselves.

Seems a level below the championship.

At 24 not what you could say a young player now so few loans here and there.

His agent done well.

Kind of baffling but if he turned into the next Ebere, all well and good, but at 24 thought ideally would have made the breakthrough by now.

Unless someone knows something we not privy to !!!

I've said this a few times before. Watched him a good bit at underage for Ireland. He is quick, direct and a decent crosser. But every year, you think this has to be his break-through year and every year his season is disrupted by injury. He lost virtually the whole of 21/21, so the situation is getting worse not better. If he is like this now, he will be crocked by the time he is 30. Shame, as a fully fit Shodipo would go a long way to solving our lack of pace issues. Just can't see it happening.

New bloke comes in. Takes a look, fcuks him off to Gillingham by the end of August.

Sad his career blighted by injuries; just don’t see it happening for the lad, or the rationale for keeping him. Delighted if I’m proved wrong.

I assume he's not on a lot of money, so it's a bit of a gamble but with a low downside.

Like you say he's fast and direct, needs to stay fit and work on his game, if he can do that he could have real potential and sell on value.

He getting league one loans so maybe another season with a league one loan might put him in the shop window and if the clubs sells might get something back for their investment, hopefully with an injury free season

He will be 25 before the season starts, has made 111 appearances, over half as a sub, has had one decent season in all that time.

Can't see him making it but I think shows how we are cutting our cloth this year financially.

theres a good financial argument for extendign his contract

he's probably on low wages given this is the final year option extension of a longer term contract

by exercising hte option, qpr now are able to sell him on. if his contract had run out, he'd have been able to leave on a free

exercising the option allows qpr to sell him on to another club (even if its for a small fee). the guy scored 10 goals for oxford two years ago so imagine someone might be interested in

No one will buy Shodipo, he's always getting injured.

He's like Paul Smyth, a good player, but always injured. We released Smyth and he played great for Orient, but of course, only a few games as he had more than one injury again.

Shodipo was the same this season, on loan to a decent club in Sheff Wed and gets injured again.

Also, let's say we play him and he turns into a wonder winger and never gets injured. But we don't get a promo, then he leaves on a free.

Therefore really we need to be sure he's gonna do that as otherwise, the new manager won't like him. Will ship him out on loan and we have wasted our money again. No one will pay more than 100% wages for our players even on loan, we are not Chelsums puppy farm.

It is crackers we are renewing his contract as the risks are high and the reward is not that great, he's not Willock or Chair and he will get injured again.

After this next season, Wycome will sign him on free and that's where he will be for while until 28 and then onto Sutton Utd and so on.
