Really was a great year, and great team, for so long.
Also, hear the hope drain from Nick and Andy in x5 speed

That side really should have made the playoffs. I'm still in the "We should have stuck with Warburton" camp, but it was such fall off the cliff edge that he has to take some responsibility.

What struck me about this season was how Warburton went from talking of being feared in this division, referencing Brentford as an example, imposing our game on others etc and bettering last year which means play-offs to not mentioning that at all about half way through the season. What happened…fatigue, distractions from above???

We ended up 9 points off the play-offs, with a crippling injury list for half the season. I appreciate all clubs have injuries but ours, with the goalkeeper situation and multiple injuries in the same positions, was unprecedented. If the first team players aren’t worth 9 points, over half a season, then there’s no point having a first team, any eleven would do.

I’m convinced we would have been stronger next season had MW stayed, but the fall-off gave the perfect excuse to those behind the scenes who have the ear of the owners to get rid of him. Time will tell as to why that was, but I find it bizarre that someone who has done so much good for the club was dispensed with so quickly.

Noticeable how many goals early on were from crosses, shots outside the box and how we had a plethora of players attacking. By the end of the season you were lucky to get one Hoop in the box.

Agree. Confident that MW would have done the necessary rebuilding on low budget (because he has done it before) and would be competitive next season. Now, much more uncertainty.

Good spot.

I’m struggling to see how we didn’t get promoted. I’ve watched and rewatched that video three times and we don’t appear to have ever conceded a goal all season. Surely with a total of 106 points we were good for at least the PO?

It's depressing this montage.....we had it all and then all of a sudden, a couple of defeatrs, Willock injured and we went from proud swagger to drunk stagger. It was sooooo good for 5 months.

Only got around to watching this now - thanks Clive for posting. Two observations:
1 Our two most technically skillful goals came in the one game v Derby
2 Early in the season, every goal scored led to the scorer being mobbed by the ENTIRE team. Long before the end of the season, long before we were out of it, a goal was greeted by the nearest player to the scorer plus a few pats on the head as he ran back to the centre of the park. Meaning (A) The novelty of scoring goals was wearing off (B) Team spirit was gradually deteriorating due to behind the scenes factors?

Two observations both spot on.
