I'm not complaining about 4 points on the road at two tough away games 19:41 - Dec 26 with 6164 views

Lots of negative posts around social media in the immediate aftermath of the game but I'll take 4 points from two tough away games all day long. Cardiff didn't have a shot on target (even though they should have). Critchley is two games in. We haven't conceded a goal away from home again. Clean sheets mean you climb the table eventually. He has a lot of work to do but this is a really decent start.

Totally agree with the above. After the Beale debacle there could have been a real possibility of us going totally off the rails
We have got 4 points.... 2 clean sheets ......away from home is for me a positive start
Unfortunately I don't see us being free scoring.....I know we had a bit of a purple patch.... but a lot of those goals were long distance worldies, and that could not have gone on indefinitely
Be nice to now moveonwith the season, have stability back, perhaps challenge for those top 6 places and see what happens

Etete missed two sitters and the defending of both chances was dire. He should have buried one. I doubt we would have got back into it had he scored. It was another disappointing display on Sky from us but yeah this time we avoided defeat.

Anyway let's see how we do in the two tough home games coming up where we will be expected to attack more.

They had opportunities , especially on second ball. But they are the lowest scorers in the division for a reason. I actually thought the chances they created,they created too easily - defenders losing forwards.
Yeah, i'd take 4 points and no goals conceded from the last 2 games happily. But this was a backwards step from Preston.

All sensible, but it was dull viewing.

My beef with that performance was the absence of any quality in the final third. Crosses, corners and free kicks were poor and Shodopo’s (sp) shot at the end was pure cack.

Thought the defending - admittedly against a poor side - was solid, defenders and midfielders put a good shift in.

Type of game Rangers notoriously lose, so take the point and move on.

More disappointment. If we had played at three quarters of our best that game was there for the taking. If you play sht then I suppose don't lose.

Just seen Critchley interview on offy. He is being diplomatic but you can see he is not happy.

Dunne defended like two men, Paal was solid and workmanlike, Dickie started to look like the defender we know him to be. Laird put in the kind of performance that is likely to have Man U thinking, "nah, leave him at QPR'.

We didn't lose because the team who should be in the Welsh League couldn't finish for toffee.

After the previous half a dozen fixtures I'll take two away games undefeated with clean sheets. Now we need to find more of an attacking threat.

I didn't see the game but am inclined to agree. Four points and nil conceded from two aways'll do me. Boxing day games are often way off kilter and one suspects the players have had a few snifters.
And Luton at home to come - always a match full of warmth and bonhomie.

4pts from the 2 away matches is a really solid return, the issue is that Cardiff looked so poor, are in bad form and we created so little, so it was more than manner of the draw than the points return.

I’m more than satisfied with Critchley’s first 2 matches and I avoid the hysterical overreaction on social media but I do think some disappointment is understandable.

Watched this one at home.

Mate came round watch it and he wasn't happy but he goes to about three games a year.

He got a ticket for Thursday but not going now after this performance aka half this message board more than likely.

I will go to all home games if i can ie got season ticket and my view different to my mates.

Was pretty content tbf. Two clean sheets, four points and two home games to come after one point in last eighteen is a vast improvement.

Yes the game was dull and it seems Critchley will be a more pragmatic manager than the last two.

We not going have three twos or three fours but nil nils or one nils.

Myself I less stressed watching these games but less excited but as been said, it's a results business and so far so good for Critchley.

Could have predicted all the nonsense posts on the thread.

Think half of our fanbase, usually the armchair brigade have these delusions of grandeur.

Pleased with that myself.

I am not sure what is meant by nonsense posts. The fact is we have won one in 8 and only scored twice and some of those games like today, we have mustered just one on target as we did against a poor Cardiff side. It was only two months ago we beat them 3-0 and it should have been more on the night.

I think everyone is entitled to their opinions otherwise what is the point of the forum if we all sit here saying things are great? We have struggled all season to score kicking towards the Loft and that is troubling, even when we were top briefly it was a problem.

Luton managed to beat Norwich tonight even though they were down to 10 men and remembering how recently they dispatched us it will be tough. Sheffield Utd bullied us last time they visited and will be looking to pay us back for winning up there. As both games are on Sky I fear the worst that we will be shot shy and timid like against Burnley.

The important thing was to stop the losing streak, which Critchley has done. Get back a fit Stef Johansen and we will look a lot different. Need to turn the home form and get 3 points against Luton, even a scrappy 1-0 will do, that will give us confidence for Sheffield United game, which will probably be the toughest game so far for Neil Critchley.

Preston = good team performance overall against an in form side - 3 points.
Cardiff = pretty average performance against a very average side indeed, We need to do a lot better - 1 point.

BUT pleased with the 4 points and should give us some confidence for out forthcoming two home games which will be very tough.

Progress is being made and that is most important considering our how our last 8 games have gone in terms of performances and points.

I’m pleased enough with the points from the games but agree with NC in that we were poor going forward last night. At least he sees it and didn’t try and bluff it out. Yes we didn’t concede but in some part that was down to Etete who looks like he couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a boat.
