Something odd these days about watching a bunch of players celebrating the fact that promotion will have sealed their own exit from the club! 15 new players in minimum including replacing everyone but McBurnie I think.

Still, nice to win at Wembley isn't it.

In general I think it's natural to be celebrating to achieving something, financially they'll also be doing just fine out of this

Round about this time last year we beat Sunderland at their place. Today they qualified for the Europa League!

Don’t worry though because we are going to finish 16th and be out of both cups by January
How is it that every club that goes down or in to administration seems to do better than us

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

We now know the other 23 teams we'll be competing against. Just for a bit of fun, how quickly can you list all 24 teams, without looking it up.

Presumably we'll need to start a new thread for 26/27.

Relegation the inevitable outcome of West Ham’s relentless executive failure https://www.theguardian.com/fo

Well, Wet Spam are in the Championship now so I make no apology for this article. It's damning, excoriating and actually rather sad. Will they ever recover?

Sadly it's pretty easy as we've played most of them so many times over the last decade...

Looks like Skubala is leaving as Lincoln boss to join Bristol City after just signing a contract extension. After being turned down by Elphick god knows how much cash they’ve thrown at Lincoln and Skubala to get this deal over the line.

Wait for the transfer window to open.

That's the optimal time IMHO

Can’t blame these guys, as with Beale, for taking the opportunities that come their way as you’re always one bad run from being written off and that sort of money/opportunity being further away than ever.

Still feels a risky move on his part. They don’t strike me as a club in a good place. If he does make a success of it then fair play.

Tough go for Lincoln that. Will be interesting who they get in, seem a forward thinking type so hopefully not another go on the merry go round for Rowett, Harris et al

They’ve appointed two of their existing coaches as joint managers. Chris Cohen and Tom Shaw

It's only three years since West Ham beat Fiorentina to win the Europa Conference League.

David Gold passing away in 2023 and them then letting Moyes go in 2024 because he didn't play "the West Ham way" were probably big factors that led to their relegation.

I'm not defending their move to the London Stadium, it's obviously not a football stadium and their fans hate it. But it's a bit strong for Barney Ronay to talk about "relentless executive failure" when they've had 14 consecutive seasons in the PL and won a European trophy along the way.

Most of the clubs in the Championship would kill for that sort of executive failure.

You have a point, there was actually a better article about West Ham in the Guardian (I'll try to find it.)

I think that Ronay is a Millwall fan - so hardly unbiased.

I heard a good story from a friend who was chatting to one of Southgate’s backroom staff at England. Apparently a team hotel was asked to remove a wine rack from their reception area as the temptation was proving too great for Trippier and Kyle Walker.

The rule was they’d get another if they could say “wine rack right back” three times without slurring.

Kyle Walker v Temptation. Only ever going to be one winner.
