Still, nice to win at Wembley isn't it. |
In general I think it's natural to be celebrating to achieving something, financially they'll also be doing just fine out of this

Don’t worry though because we are going to finish 16th and be out of both cups by January How is it that every club that goes down or in to administration seems to do better than us
| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

Sadly it's pretty easy as we've played most of them so many times over the last decade...

Can’t blame these guys, as with Beale, for taking the opportunities that come their way as you’re always one bad run from being written off and that sort of money/opportunity being further away than ever. Still feels a risky move on his part. They don’t strike me as a club in a good place. If he does make a success of it then fair play.

It's only three years since West Ham beat Fiorentina to win the Europa Conference League. David Gold passing away in 2023 and them then letting Moyes go in 2024 because he didn't play "the West Ham way" were probably big factors that led to their relegation. I'm not defending their move to the London Stadium, it's obviously not a football stadium and their fans hate it. But it's a bit strong for Barney Ronay to talk about "relentless executive failure" when they've had 14 consecutive seasons in the PL and won a European trophy along the way. Most of the clubs in the Championship would kill for that sort of executive failure. [Post edited 30 May 12:00]

You have a point, there was actually a better article about West Ham in the Guardian (I'll try to find it.) I think that Ronay is a Millwall fan - so hardly unbiased.

I heard a good story from a friend who was chatting to one of Southgate’s backroom staff at England. Apparently a team hotel was asked to remove a wine rack from their reception area as the temptation was proving too great for Trippier and Kyle Walker.

The rule was they’d get another if they could say “wine rack right back” three times without slurring.

Kyle Walker v Temptation. Only ever going to be one winner.
