I cannot believe anybody rates this guy.
He's a total embarrassment under crosses, he's too small and I'm not sure he can even jump.
He is CLEARLY not a viable goalkeeper.
It's a shame, as him aside, we were looking quite good. But you can't win games consistently with a bad goalkeeper - and Walsh is a bad keeper.
Sadly none of our three keepers are good enough and it should have been addressed in the window. [Post edited 24 Feb 21:21]

In his defence he was signed by QPR in 2021 so been here 5 years. In that time he has started 19 games in league football with loans at Maidenhead, Dorking, Accrington and Hampton & Richmond where he played a grand total of 28 games in those 4 loans.
He has ability but has played nowhere near enough football in the last 5 years, he should have had a full season out on loan last season and this season like we are doing with Murphy Cooper, the club are hugely at fault with his lack of development and he's not the only one we've messed up with |  | | |

He had a shocker, no doubt. Plenty will be saying he’s useless but that’s harsh on the guy.
He has been improving since coming back from his injury and needs to improve more for sure. He’s also part of a defensive core and while he was let down badly last night, he also let that core down too.
Not sure I agree he should be binned but it’s hard to defend the guy after last night. I’m sure he would accept his big part in an extremely poor game. |  | | |

Walsh is 6 foot 3. Nardi is actually only 6 foot 1 and Hamer is 6 foot 4.
I feel for the kid to be honest. He's like the rest of the team in that he can be wildly inconsistent. He is, like many keepers, capable of fantastic saves and has on occasion looked good at crosses. I think he suffers perhaps with nerves and concentration. Murphy Cooper is also 6 foot 1 but to be honest, of the keepers we have he seems to be the most consistent, but he's on loan, is he not?
I think Walsh perhaps needs a season in League 1 but it's a difficult choice. He's had bad games and then been trusted to bounce back in the next one, and generally has. | |

It wasn't really a case of being out jumped by a smaller player. He was beaten by the better anticipation of a player who came across in front of him. He was at fault but it happens. Even Saito managed a headed clearance coast night. | | | |

There is no way Cooper is 6"1. I saw him play for Sheff Wed earlier this season and it's no exaggeration to say he didn't exactly tower over Barry Bannan. He looked more like 5"9ish up close.
That said, after a nervy first 10-15 minutes he actually played pretty well and made some good saves. |  | | |

And while clearly at fault for the second goal, his head didn't drop and he still made some good saves. The score line could have been a lot worse.
Won't have the blame pinned solely on him when all the players were culpable one way or another.

I think he's looked good soince coming back, much better than expected and he stopped all the talk about who should play and became No1 without too many complaints.
Absolute shocker last night together with the rest of the defence. He can't have many more of those, but I'd definitely leave him in now unless he needs a game off for his confidence.

He is the best keeper at the club in terms of overall skills sets and growth potential. As others have said, he should have more games under his belt in the division below at this stage, but it is too late for that now. He’s learning on the job and should receive our support - that’s our jobs as SUPPORTers yeah? Also worth remembering that being the keeper is the most vulnerable position on the pitch. Make an error and it invariably results in the concession of a goal. Kone (whom I love) made a horrendous hash of two open goals, but that was all forgotten (as it should be) when he very neatly tucked away our third goal last Saturday. Walsh made several decent saves either side of the goals he could have prevented - yet still gets pilloried for his mistakes. | | | |

Two new Championship keepers should have been a priority. Championship keepers.

Walsh was poor but he wasn't alone in that. I'm not sure he could have done anything about the first or the last but, as I'm sure he would acknowledge, he was largely responsible for the others. Saying that, it was Mbengue who lost Matsuki for the unmarked header. And Mbengue got skinned for the others.
Overall, Walsh has looked the best of the 3 keepers we have used. At 23, the potential is significant. Perhaps he should have had a L1 loan earlier, but it's far too late now.p |  |
