Never commented on a referee here but this referee should not be officiating for me.
He was awful for both teams, and very often easily conned and in a game which in reality wasnt a needle game at all, would suggest it was a match in what you would think had a couple of yellow cards, however this fellow brandished it 10 times, 6 yellows for us and 4 yellows for them.
The only shock for me was that he didnt pick out a couple of reds for good measure.

Absolute bell end of a ref , not helped by Watford players going down injured every time we put a tackle in (embarrassing so called men) killed our game as we had to take smyth off before he found an excuse to send him off and then gives them their free kick when it was a great tackle by bennie!
Nearly cost us the game but he can now fcuck off along with the yellow babies . |  | | |

I actually thought he had a decent game. SOme quite petty and nasty bits from both teams, kicks off the ball, elbows left in.
Most of the bookings were fair, Dunne was probably lucky there is no Var as his one was a really high bad tackle. Kolli stupidly kicking one of theirs off the ball, he booked a Watford player for doing the same to Varane.
Smyth was unlucky but looked a nasty one on the replay, a booking seemed fair.

"The ref did end up booking Louzza after he kept moaning at him" - exactly, he should have booked him earlier for dissent and actually could have booked him again straight away, as immediately after he booked Louzza, Louzza clapped him ironically - more dissent.
Meanwhile, Kone gets booked for complaining about a free kick the ref got wrong when he penalised Bennie.
Kolli did get booked for a kick which was the correct decision, but Pollock had previously fouled Kolli about 3 times (only one given as a foul). In the 2nd half, we tried to break away and Pollock committed a foul to stop the break - free kick given but no card. These are always cards as Dunne and Varane were booked for similar fouls at Leicester. |  |

I thought the ref was really poor. He lost control of the game early and caused his own problems. You could see Pollock was going for Kolli in the first minute - a word in his ear could have calmed the niggles. He gave at least two cards under the influence of Watford players - weak. The Smyth slip was unfortunate and not a card - that sort of thing just riles players.

What are people’s thoughts on the Mbenge disallowed goal that was pulled back for the foul on 45 seconds?
Personally I didn’t see much wrong with it and thought goal should’ve stood.
So for me the ref was great……. For less than a minute!!!
He looked scared witless and had zero authority and players will sniff that out quick style. Throwing cards around like it’s Christmas isn’t the answer either.
I decided on 30 mins that Mbenge was bound to get booked as he was having a nightmare on and off the ball. It was 7/2 and too good not to have a nibble on……. I was shocked when it took until past 80th minute for him to go in the book for time wasting!!!! |  |

He totally missed the worst challenge in the entire game. Their 3, who might be one of the worst centre halves I’ve watched down there, had lost his rag with Kolli after the Kolli booking. High ball on halfway which Vale wins and the fella absolutely does him. Straight leg. Nowhere near the ball. Not even a free kick, could easily have been a straight red.
