Great story.

Can't be many of us around who've seen QPR play them at Sincil Bank.

1949 or 1962 are the only 2 times we’ve played at Lincoln.

This brings back a random memory.

On a Blackpool weekend in the 90s we decided to take in Blackpool v Lincoln and went in the away end. A poor game which Lincoln lost but good banter among the away fans, especially from a group of very drunk Queen of the South fans who apparently regularly came down from Scotland to follow Lincoln.

I know of one Rangers fan who was at Lincoln for the 5.0 away win in April 1962 - Dennis Samuels

Tickets will be like gold dust for that fixture next season

Away allocation at present is around 2,000 in a ground that holds just over 10,000.
They are likely to have an increased demand for home tickets, so, I guess, it could be reduced.

During the pandem I set myself the challenge of trying to buy a programme from every ground we played at in the 60s. Lincoln one of my favourite covers. A work of art.

It might have taken a lot longer for them to do it, but Lincoln has gone down to non league, and fought their way to the Championship, just as Wrexham have done.

Wrexham spent an absolute fortune to do it, and they’ve had an over the top amount of great publicity too. Their owners even had a Sky Sports channel dedicated to their film star owners to commentate on one of their games. 🤮🤮

Lincoln has done it on a very small budget, and they’ve not had 1% of the publicity that Wrexham have had.

I’m absolutely delighted for them.

The first team to be relegated out of the football league back in 1987.
Got to be pleased for them and its going to be nice playing some different rather than Stoke etc.

Poll: How is Nourry cooking so far ? 🤣

I saw their first away game in the conference in 1987.They lost 3-0 at Weymouth.Glad to see them again next season, especially if we take 6 points off them.
I just found the programme and saw Steve Claridge was playing for Weymouth that night. It was the first game at their new ground.

Can remember all 3 of those scorers. But didn't go to away games back then.

You just know it’s going to be a Tuesday night in January.

I note one of the scorers from our last visit there was the brother of our Tommy Collins who away regulars will see at every game with his famous QPR plastic bag!

After this game there will be a few of us edging closing to completing the 92 with Rangers. Not many grounds left.

I think I read that people at the club claimed they had never got over being the away side at Bradford the day of the fire two years before. Some of their most important players gave up the game afterwards.
