Is Dunne off? 19:09 - Apr 25 with 8119 viewsWegerles_Stairs

Seems really odd that he hasn't played the last few games. Would be a big miss, if we are selling him, particularly with the likes of Cook leaving too.

carrying an injury all year I thought? Therefore resting him and trying to rehabilitate glass salter

He gets better every game he’s out of the side.

Cant see Dunne going anywhere.

Getting a bit older now for a move up the ladder. If he left it would be to a championship club with a similar pedigree as ourselves and cant see him wanting to do that himself anyhow, especially being club captain here.

Jimmy is going nowhere for me and he has had had an injury and also deserves a rest also.

I wouldnt worry about this myself

I think he’s been getting better every game he’s played this year to be fair!

We have missed him badly in last few games. If he was on today would have won that. JCS got done 2nd half kept giving the ball away 2nd to the ball..

Was wondering the same thing but by all accounts he’s staying put (unless a large bid that we can’t refuse comes in)

Also he has bleached his hair blonde so when he came round the pitch at the end of the game, I don't think everyone recognised him straightaway - or at least I didn't!

So...you're saying we sold him and we've programmed his blond brother to pretend to be him....cunning...

Terrific use of "blond" rather then "blonde" as Jimmy's all man.

This sort of grammatical brilliance should not go unheralded, full credit to you Brian.

We can't have it all ways: we are either a piddly little club with a feeble budget who need to balance the FSP books or we are a solid ambitious championship club committed to advancing.

There are plenty of clubs in the latter category who would happily take Jimmy off us AND give him a juicy 4-year deal. I don't know the finances of the clubs coming down from The Prem but if they need to downsize or trim the fat they would be highly interested too. I know several West Ham fans who were very impressed with him after the cup game there.

I want Jimmy to stay but I'd say it's far from being a given.

Nah, we've sold them his brother pretending to be Jimmy and told Jimmy to die his hair blonde to pretend he's someone else...

Dunne, whilst nowhere near Premiership level, would be a big loss for the Club - in many ways. I hope he does not leave unless it is for big money. I hope, whoever is in charge, thinks that JCS or the Children can play to his standard 35 odd games a season.

You sure he's injured???

I mean you know how SOME people love a conspiracy that the club may be spinning us a yarn

Not necessarily true.
Eze signed a new deal with an agreement that he would be sold for a decent fee so the club doesn't lose out. Probably as a thank you for believing in him.

Maybe Dunne has done a similar deal because if how he feels about the club and fans.

Appreciate a lot of footballers, its all about the money.

For me, Jimmy is old school. He wants to be where he is appreciated and where he can have the maximum impact. A fit Jimmy Dunne here, is captain, a leader and first name on the teamsheet.

If he leaves, for me, it would be a sideways move to a similar championship club. If a club expected to be competing for automatic promotion to the premier league comes in for him, he is likely to be a bench option, at best. And can't see any club in the premier league coming for him, as his pace is not there.

Its more the case of where would he go, if he left.

For me, it would be a massive shock, if we started next season without Jimmy amongst our ranks....

I can't imagine we are going to get that nuch for him though. I think he's just injured. If they were holding players back who they'd like to sell we wouldn't have seen any of the injured players return.

It was reported by the club as a "Minor" issue. I make that a minimum of 4 months out on the Bikey Ben scale of injuries.

Can we go out yet?

Come on Numpty.......Dunne is a good man, a good professional, massive for the Team & Club, a proper lad but if he was offered, for example, double his wages the he would be a very silly man not to take the offer.

He would leave, 100%

After our last win and the subsequent celebrations, on Good Friday, Jimmy was visibly hobbling and wincing as he left the pitch. I was very surprised to see him in the line up on Easter Monday and he did play the full 90.

We haven't seen him since, so I think he is recovering from his efforts and hopefully will be 100% fit for August.
