For those among us who've run marathons, you know how hard the effort was to run your fastest time. Then you read someone has finally, and officially, gone under two hours and you think, how much faster that is than you.

Incredible. He did indeed come, Sawe, and conquer!!

I ran one london marathon but was four and a half hours.

Ran around 60 half marathons and many 10k races, but all in my 20s.

My half marathon best time was 1 hour 24 minutes and i felt i was sprinting the whole way.

This guy ran two 59 minute halfs, one after the other.

Thats insane.

26 miles run of 4 minutes 33 seconds miles , 26 times in a row !!!

Sub three hours is a brilliant time Ted by your son

Had a picture at the finish line with my dad in 1996. Its a special photo, and a very proud moment, but its such a tough thing to do.

Great you got some amazing memories.

Incredible!
But I’m not sure they’d have achieved that without me breathing down their necks (ok I finished in 4:54:58 so not that close, but happy with that for my 1st and only marathon at 61)

A speed of over 13 miles an hour is impressive.I doubt I could achieve that speed on a bike let alone running.

I used to do Park Runs and his average 5k time (14m10s) would smash any record at any Park Run I've been to I reckon.

That's insane.

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

Its amazing pace. I have done a couple of marathons (3:10 PB) and loads of other races. I once done a 1k relay event, done 3 x 1k relays and managed c3:10-3:15 for the 1ks which was a podium finish for our team that day, this guy run quicker than that 42 times on the trot!!!

I think 99.5% of people in the country (maybe even higher) could not run that pace for 400m let alone 42195m

Kudos to anyone who runs marathons, but I just don't understand why.

I once did a half marathon on 1h42. I'd watched in previous years and the top athletes were going faster than I could have run 200m. Different class.

Yep, I've run London and the thought that this guy would have lapped me (and then a (little) some) over 26.2 miles is sobering.

Someone said that the conditions (cool, clear, calm, dry) were perfect for this attempt at sub-2hours but no matter. Mindblowing achievement.

Just rang QPR, and you should expect a call from someone called, Ben Williams.

We'll have you injured in no time!

I think that the guy who came second, Yomif Kejelcha, was running in his first ever marathon.
If that's the case, I wonder if he will go on to smash his time in the future.

100% of people who drink water will die.

Well, you can't fall off so I find it more understandable than rock climbing.
