Hamer OTOH only had seven starts, but achieved the highest average performance rating in our entire squad. I don't care if I never see or hear of him ever again. We have the most unbelievable fan base at times. We've got a number 1 who needs as much game time as possible and some of our fans want to give a farewell game to a fellas who's played about 5 games. This is professional sport. Do we not throw away enough games a season without giving farewell games to basically loanees. I've been saying this for years.

His debut was really good. The other appearances, much the same as Nardi/Walsh mostly.
Probably value in having an experienced keeper in what will be a young squad next season but not Ben. Good bloke to have around, classic third choice, thanks for the memories. Ultimately we need a goalkeeper of any age who is quite good at keeping the ball out of the goal. | | | |

Walsh wasn't in the squad against Derby and there was no news on him being injured, so my suggestion that he could start as a farewell is based on the fact that he was better than Nardi when he played as cover for Walsh, but also that Nardi had faced 3 shots on target and all went in .
Wanting him to start is nothing to do with sentiment and more to do with not wanting Nardi to play, especially as the last time he faced Ipswich he conceded 4 goals including 2 free kicks because he couldn't even set up a decent wall for the 2nd. He lined up the shortest wall in men's football and the taker just hit it over them and into the goal.
