I said In the match thread, if you are Millwall, you are infuriated by our lack of intensity and this weird thing of throwing on three or four young ones for their very first or very early career appearances, just says one thing, we are letting your rivals win.
Changing the set up and putting Bennie up front on his own, which has already been found out not to work, is just ridiculous.
If Nourry quotes the fact we have given our youth cup winners well deserved run outs for the first team, I think I will spontaneously combust !!!

Ok, its nice for them to get this out of the way in their careers, but will it make a blind bit of difference to them going forwards. No Sir, It won't....

We could have finished the season as strong as possible. 8th or 9th would have been a realistic and achievable target. We’ve chosen not to go for it. A rubbish end to a season that has shown promise but not delivered at the decisive moments…again. |  | | |

Waa just highlighting if the tables were turned we would have had every right to be angry with them.
The season is 46 games but we have treated the last 6 games as if they were testimonials pre season friendlies.
Tbh i am angry about our attitudes to the last 6 games, which has damaged a half decent season.
Its the clubs hierarchy decision making that i feel has made me angry but yes was just making point re Millwall that if was the other way around we would have been very angry.at the lack of care of performances or results. [Post edited 3 May 0:05]

It's not unusual to give some youngsters a run out in the last match of the season, especially if you think they have a better than even chance of being first team regulars in 2-3 years.
The game was lost in the first 10 minutes. Or, probably, when the team was selected. I doubt if Burrell or Obikwu could have played. Kone has been carrying a knock for weeks. If Kolli was also injured( who knows?) there was no-one other than Bennie. I don't think many of us would have wanted to risk any of the injured when all we had to play for was pride. |  |

What’s annoyed me so much is that against Derby we should have won that game. We were undeniably poor against Swansea, should have beaten Preston and then the rest was told untold dross (Millwall and Ipswich).
The game that broke us was the Preston game. I saw players collapse with sadness after the game. We had made all the running, created a ton of chances, and the finisher was one of the worst goals the country has ever seen. | | | |

This is what I mean about taking people with you.
It's a tough league, we're at a disadvantage, we've been in it for ten years in mostly the same position. The fans have stuck with, stayed patient, said nothing.
They should be going all out on the "we're in this together". We want you involved. We want to speak to you.
Instead, they're doing the opposite. Wrapping the whole thing in confidentiality clauses, taking away access, hiding as much as they can.
Whack the ticket prices up, send nobody out to explain it. Say it's your fault for abusing the concessions, say you were lucky to have it in the first place. Say it's up to you what sort of fan you want to be.
The whole thing is basically treated like Christian's project, and we can just come and watch if we like. It's very difficult to get invested in that. To care about it. |  | | |

If there's no plans to win anything, just kinda existing, midtable, just making up the numbers, a season can drag along. There has been some great moments this season, don't get me wrong. But it will be nice to see some progress at the club. We're just forever treading water. |  |

The thing is, to quote a Clint Eastwood character, "A man's got to know his limitations". Clive observed that we were beaten in 9 matches out of ten by the teams who finished in the top five this season. We rank among the "Have nots" in this league. Something miraculous has to happen for us to compete among the "Haves". Something like keeping our best eleven injury free would be a good start. [Post edited 3 May 21:56]

Dare I be the first to say it. But given the combination of our tendency to accrue a lot of injuries, the fragility of our defense and the fairly pathetic performances at the tail end of this season, we could struggle next time around. | | | |
