I have gone back with some additional questions on how that figure was reached. |
Well fair play they came back, will give them that. But £47,000? Have I misunderstood? Are they saying that by "age abuse" someone older than the required age has used that season ticket for specific matches? Or that someone older than the required age has bought the ticket originally (surely that can't happen, I am sure my son's birth date ID was checked when I first bought it)?
I mean surely in that price range the difference per match isn't that much if it is the former, would mean that thousands are doing it every game?
Or have I misunderstood?

You have to send in a birth certificate for an under 8 ticket, well you used to anyway
I too my daughter to a game a year or so ago and it was such a faff getting her a free under 8 ticket I just ended up buying her an under 18 one

Thanks for sharing. I’m no fan of Nourry and don’t believe he’s the best CEO for our club but I did think on this one there was noticeably less BS. He even got close to admitting some errors which I believe is a first. |  |

Maybe do a better job checking tickets on entrance which was sort of the point made about the stewards . Feels like excuses to me
Like a pub punishing its regulars by making it £25 a pint because there might have been the odd underage drinker in.

Does he realise that voluntarily cordoning off layers of seats at the front of lower school end and converting that section to home rather than away supporters is costing the club somewhere between £500k and £1m a season?

Nourry should have been able to answer the question at the meeting.
If the club chose to justify their decision to up the prices ,in the way that they did , by claiming abuse it should have been obvious that they would be asked to provide details of such skullduggery at a meeting with fan representatives..
No reason they couldn’t have gone down the route of just dealing with those that broke the rules first before hitting those who played by them unless it is simply about bringing in more income. If that is the real reason he should have just said so rather than pinning it on the abuse angle. [Post edited 15 May 23:45]
