| Fan sites meeting with Christian Nourry 17:13 - May 15 with 46213 views | Northernr | There was an end of season debrief with the CEO at Loftus Road last night which I attended. We've whacked the audio on the Patreon, no pay wall on this so you should all be able to listen whether you've got a sub or not - please let me know if that's not the case. I'll perhaps type the minutes up physically over the weekend if I've got enough in the tank... https://www.patreon.com/posts/ | | | | |

| Fan sites meeting with Christian Nourry on 17:49 - May 16 by Hunterhoop | The material point is, why was he there if he wasn’t representing a fan site, fan publication, or fan group. It wasn’t an open meeting. It was invite only. It was supposedly for the CEO to meet reps of the different fan groups. Asking why Winton was there, and why that twitter account fella was there, just representing themselves is the right question to be asking. Their attendance would be even more questionable if either of them were given a platform to speak and address the reps of the actual fan groups. Hopefully that did not happen [Post edited 16 May 17:58]

I did wonder why Matt Winton was there . Didn’t want to come across as ‘against’ him as I’ve said before I disagree with an awful lot of what he comes out with , but I did wonder . The guy that asked about AI right at the beginning (no idea what he was talking about) does appear semi regularly on W12 podcast I think . Maybe he was their rep ?

We loaned Charlie Kelman out to Gillingham when he was 19 too, but I don;t suppose that counts since we signed him [Post edited 16 May 19:16]

| Fan sites meeting with Christian Nourry on 19:24 - May 16 with 3157 views | numptydumpty | I dont have any issues with people that are very pro Nourry being invited. Why wouldnt you invite them. He invited a few that were more negative towards him, but think thats fair and there are fans who definitely think we are heading in the right direction. There are some aspects i think need improvement and i do think Nourry is not a great interviewee. He finds the right way to explain answers difficult. I do though think there are definitely many positives. Am not one to boo the 'bad' man, but communication is not Christian's strong point. | |

I have no problem with it either…unless they aren’t representing a fans’ group or fans media outlet. Because if they’re just individuals there on behalf of themselves, why couldn’t other individuals join? Why even make it a closed door thing with some of the content confidential? What beneficial purpose is it serving?

i guess if they have a lot of followers who read and comment on their output, its also publicising the R's a lot in the same way a forum or a podcast do also. I dont have any issues with it myself and the likelihood it represents the younger fanbase which they are very unrepresented on a forum such as this. Not sure why the need to criticise that.

I have no beef with Matt Winton, I respect him and his family. But he doesn't qualify on any of those criteria you mention: he's a middle-aged man with 530 followers on X, so he has neither reach nor youth appeal nor, crucially, a fans site. He simply qualifies to attend because he's loudly, relentlessly pro Nourry. You can't have a meeting between the club and fans sites and invite individual fans along who interject such as that, who are invited into the off the record briefing. What's the qualification for attendance? Fealty to the leadership. Some pigs are more equal than others under this CEO, that's clear. If you don't have an issue with that, why not?

Why did the meeting happen in the first place? The club weren’t forced to do it. Perhaps they should’ve asked you to vet the attendees first to make sure they met your approval.

Actually the club is mandated by the league to do a set number of these meetings, forums, fan engagements a season.
| Fan sites meeting with Christian Nourry on 09:44 - May 17 with 2201 views | Phildo | Interesting thread and events. I hope that the club and those lone rangers who take the company line understand that framing criticism as harm can be seen as an attempt to suppress free comment and a confident and open organisation would be actively seeking different opinions to test where it stands. Accepting a critical friend is more important for avoiding mistakes than looking to control the narrative. Controlling the narrative just looks very weak and insecure and plays into ideas that the CEO lacks the experience to carry the great weight of running a football club which is never an easy task anyway. Owning where we are - 15th - is an important part of fixing it. Accepting that the injuries and the pitch issues were unacceptable- helps to do something about them in the future. Any clumsy attempt to shut down the above will backfire and those doing it will in the end look very foolish. We lived through Paladini. | | | |
| Fan sites meeting with Christian Nourry on 10:14 - May 17 with 2114 views | Watford_Ranger | I think CN is mostly hot air but appreciate I’m not well-informed beyond what I read on here an a bit on Twitter where I get more of the opposing view from the yoof. If he and the club promise jam tomorrow that’s fine and his more vocal supporters can defend that thinking for a period of time. Eventually you have to be swimming in jam or it just looks silly. Either the club makes big progress on the pitch (not a whole lot of evidence so far) or becomes financially solid by developing and selling players for big fees (might happen, some potential in a few). If we’re sat here in a year having finished 15th without making some profit on the investment last year then you have your answer as to whether the bloke knows what he’s doing or not. | | | |
| Fan sites meeting with Christian Nourry on 10:16 - May 17 with 2110 views | daveB | Does it matter though who attended? You got a range of ages and opinions at the meeting. I don't know if it's done on invite or not but if someone has asked to attend then so what I'd rather have fans engaged and wanting to talk to the club and more importantly the club wanting to talk to supporters than nothing. I'm not a huge fan of Nourry but some of the stuff on here is mental at the moment. There is a lot more about who attended rather than what was actually said. | | | |

Ultimately it doesn't matter but this setup clearly has the Paladini play book about it and people like Matt Winton should be wise to that [Post edited 17 May 10:42]

| Fan sites meeting with Christian Nourry on 09:20 - May 16 by mart_Goblin | What was interesting to me was the change in tone when answering Clive’s questions compared to the rest of the recording . Certainly micro aggression there and that’s the problem. He only wants a select few fans there because he can’t really handle being pushed on anything that isn’t pre prepared. It’s the underlying politicians attitude that worries me most about our Christian . He mentions early on about data and stats driving us forward and will happily tell anybody and everybody at every given opportunity that the season tickets in the Lower School End are the lowest in the Championship for example , and has all the info up his sleeve that makes him look good . But somehow doesn’t have the details to hand of issues that don’t make him look quite so good . To pin that price hike on the fans is either a bit of a deliberate swipe or an inexperienced gaff, because as pointed out by Clive, but obvious to all of us with an ounce of brain, how could they possibly know ? Know one is checking on a match day . It’s simply a lie . It wouldn’t surprise me if they have read somewhere or been told by a governing body at a meeting somewhere that “it’s estimated that every club loses ???? amount every season by people using concession tickets to get in”. And so they decided to use it as a reason to put prices up . That’s all a view of course and I expect it’s inexperience in monitoring the backlash of a fan base rather than a spiteful lash out, but it’s an untruth and that’s a real worry for me . The change in tone is because he doesn't like someone that might ask for accountability at a professional level, but feels he has to include Clive because of his influence with the fanbase. Clive has a decent audience and will often highlight the more questionable decisions by people running QPR, a lot of which is born from the many decades of chancers and underhanded goings on we've experienced from previous regimes. He also questions people as a profession, so will expose bullshit if given the opportunity, and people like CN hate that. Linked In Boy is an egotist, but his main agenda is controlling the narrative, this is why he has to suffer Clive, who he can't fully control, and also why he loves / invited Matt Winton, who lets have it right is <REDACTED>. Why the obsession about who attended? We are not at primary school. There was a meeting with fans. Some (not picking on this post more than any other) just seem to want to criticise Nourry for the smallest thing. Having waded through three pages of this thread I would be much more interested to read whether the fans who were there gleaned any information of any significance while they had the CEO there. There are actually plenty of issues he does need to be held to account to: Our appalling injury record - does he recognise that know it all Ben Williams has some questions to answer and more importantly what lessons have been learned for next season? Is there any room in the kitty for transfers or is it dependent on sales? And is there any prospect of the major sale his model needs to show it is working? Is there any realistic substance to the Car Giant reports re our reputed interest. Can’t speak for others but far more interested in that stuff than whether Fred Bloggs was invited or what tone Nourry may or may not have adopted when answering some technical detail about season tickets. My bad I concede for not being able to wade thru the audio but am surprised this thread is so focused on process and not substance. | | | |

Respectfully disagree, Dave. It matters because meetings, their agenda, their minutes and their attendees should be open and honest. It's the decent thing to do and the wise thing to do. Adding someone to a Fans Sites Meeting who doesn't have a fans site but who happens to be one of Nourry's biggest admirers is neither wise nor decent. It undermines trust and positivity, when we could do with more of both.

| Fan sites meeting with Christian Nourry on 11:37 - May 17 with 1891 views | BklynRanger | Haven't listened to it all yet, but you can again see how comfortable Nourry is about discussing development issues and other conceptual musings vs some of the other, for want of a better word, concrete topics - that question of getting players experience early on was right up his street. Interesting though that he ended it with, "This is going to come down to how the head coach sees the squad Vs the budget we have available". To me that fits with the idea that Julien wants more experience, which we've heard strong hints of recently I think, and that he knows enough about that head coach to know what that head coach wants, i.e. they're not planning on changing him. Otherwise he could factor in the idea of another lamb to the structural slaughter who this time will go even more all in on youth, at least for one season till they've had enough of playing that game, and not even mention what the head coach thinks of the squad. | | | |
