I love it. I love how iconic the fooking wànkers guy is. And as I replied to the qpr account this morning when they posted the "from the very brink of elimination" clip, the Phil Parry "Would. You. Be. Lieve. It? No. Unbelievable" commentary clip is and always will be truly iconic too.

My wife makes a point (imo) of not understanding or being interested in the playoff process and a host of other topical football information that I may seek to enrich her life with.
But I ran around the living room with her on one shoulder when that Zamora goal went in, so even she is unable to pretend to not understand when I refer to the playoff final as "You know, the Bobby Zamora game".

My 8 and 5 year old daughters have little interest in football but have seen me watch that clip above so many times it's part of our family fabric, I was watching it this morning and my 8 year old ran in saying excitedly "daddy is it the would you believe it video!?"

It’s like the Forest fans going on about being Champions of Europe when they’ve barely stayed in the Prem this season. Or Leicester bragging about having won the Prem when we’ve just put four past them.

I don’t mind us watching the moment and talking about it. I was there and loved it at the time. I’ve watched the commentary hundreds of times. I’ve talked about the day loads with my family, it was a great day. It was funny winding the Derby fans up for a while and calling Richard Keogh one of our own for a few years.
It’s just using it as a taunt for the Derby fans now when they’re beating us or doing better in the league that makes me cringe. It’s just so long ago now. Especially when they taunt it back at us when we lose!

But surely that's the ebb and flow of football for time immemorial? There are always seasons when you are better or worse than anyone else. I don't think we should ever be embarrassed about periods when we were good - or bad for that matter. It's just the peaks and troughs of supporting your team.
For me its those dynamics that make our side so amazing.

We’ve been jammed in this shthole league for a decade. We’re currently being invited to celebrate microscopic improvements between a team that finished 15th last year under a manager we’re told was terrible, and a team that finished 15th this year under a manager who is apparently far better in every way. Anybody who dares say… isn’t this a bit sht?… is being set upon.
I hated most of that Redknapp team, and I hated him especially, but I’ll be blowed if I’m not going to enjoy the memory of a last minute winning goal at Wembley.
Hurry up and replace it with a better memory Rangers, cos this is all we’ve got atm.

The amount of stick I got at work the next day about how lucky we were etcetera got to the point of me being abusive back to the people I was working with.
Being a football fan Is high risk, the price of your ticket Is a gamble on whether you'll be happy or pissed off with the outcome, the F'ing W'kers bloke had a pissed off day, I didn't.

I met Bobby Zamora at South Mimms services and thanked him personally for that goal, he was very humble and thanked me back, I was like a big kid.
