Absolutely fantastic signing but as you said, we will see how he is post injury. Watched him for Brighton before looked the complete RB. Usual Rangers rules apply, wouldn't be with us if there wasn't an issue - local lad too which is nice.

He terminated his contract there by mutual consent in May having been signed last summer for €6m. He tore his ACL soon after joining, so didn’t play much, but still odd for him to want out and Fiorentina to just write off a €6m signing.
He has a 100 games in the Prem over 4 years so you’d think will be a big upgrade at right back, but also may only play half the season due to injuries.
If he’s not available for a while either that ACL was misdiagnosed and a lot worse than thought, he redid it, or he’s picked up some other long term knock.
Either way, as a shot to nothing (free signing) hopefully on similar to Celar, it’s a good move. |  | | |

I like this signing, it's all upside. If he recovers then we just got an absolute steal, if he doesn't then we only lose the wages. I know that that's not nothing but we have trimmed a lot of wages so far this summer so hopefully we have a little to play with. | | | |

Yes that makes sense to me. With maybe Lamptey playing against Southampton, Middlesbrough, West Ham etc and Amadou playing against the industrial teams and overall playing more minutes. It might work. It certainly gives us another option IF he can get fit.

Without injuries Brighton might be flogging him for £40m. So, he’s obviously very talented and will be a huge upgrade on current RB options. But 100 games over 4 seasons tells the story.
