| Sky games on 21:53 - Jul 30 with 4431 views | Discodroids | West ham away moved to Friday. Bollox. Would have been to much to ask for a London Derby at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon, so you know, people who have to work shifts like me could actually enjoy a sat afternoon meeting family and friends to relish the old rivalry followed by a Plaistow Jalfrezi and Kingfisher rumble , and then a small faces tribute act in the east ham working mens club. Cheers sky. | |

I've still not been but all the feedback after the Cup game did not entice me; even less likely now!

| Sky games on 10:26 - Jul 31 with 3617 views | terryb | Is this the least amount of games that Sky has chosen Rangers for since they increased coverage of the EFL? Only 5 games in the first half of the season & only one 12.30 at home. Long may it continue. | | | |

To play devil's advocate, they have picked a London 'derby' in the anti-social timeslot, which is a damn site better for travelling fans than the other non-London games that month like Birmingham or Southampton, where fans would be getting home far later or forking out for hotels. Could have been a lot worse.

id be home quicker from birmingham , and bristol city and I live in harefield . and southampton all can be done in under two hours without the slow walk to the station and then slow trains home.

Football is nothing without fans (paying to watch it on Sky). Buggering about with days and kick off times to allow for a Friday to Monday TV schedule is hardly going to help the clubs or local businesses that rely on the attendance. A 1230 kick off time means either the boozer has to open at sparrow-fart and just about cover their costs or they miss out entirely. The eateries won't make much on the lunch service. And everyone's gone home by the time they might normally have hung around for a couple of beers and a ruby, thus negatively affecting the evening trade. Who wins here? I get the need to have fresh content for the TV schedule but that shouldn't be at the cost of the entire ecosystem built up around club and its community. In short, thanks for nothing Sky. Please feel free to leave us alone for a bit.

| Sky games on 13:52 - Jul 31 with 3274 views | TK1 | Jesus. Does this really breach the moaning barrier? Not for me, Clive. 8pm on Friday night for a local derby is great, when Birmingham and Saints were both likely options for the slot, neither of which would've allowed for public transport home. No matter what time the kick off, fans will need to queue to enter Stratford station. 3pm, queue. 1pm, queue. 8pm, queue. If you can't queue for 20-30 mins, West Ham away is not for you. Good. Demand will massively outstrip supply. All night tubes run on both Central and Jubilee, so escape is straight forward. QPR and WHU are London clubs. This news was greeted with glee on our WhatsApp group, afternoons being booked off work as the prematch could be massive a couple of stops either side of Stratford. We've done a lunchtime there. Let's do a nighter. And Millwall away last year at 12.30 was good too after in London Bridge, so no huge complaints. Save the whinging for unforced club error, I think. It has diminishing impact if everything is a disaster or an affront. It's turning an old grump like me into a happy clapper. | | | |

Try the DLR from pudding mill lane.I heard it was a lot quicker getting away from the dump than the 1 hour shuffle back to Stratford. Luckily I’ll be away in Germany for the weekend so I won’t have to suffer any trouble this time.

Going via PML certainly was and there are a number of options from there depending on where you’re heading back to. I shall be back on here nearer the time boring everyone with my transport tips.

But Stratford really isn’t a nice place to stay from what I’ve seen of it.As others have said,if you go to pudding mill lane dlr station instead of the hour long shuffle to Stratford, you can get to some nicer and cheaper places to stay not too far away pretty quickly.
