Been a QPR supporter since early 70's - even though at the other end of the world since late 90's have never lost my love or passion for the superhoops. The best team and club that has ever existed. My love for QPR will never leave me. I am sure you feel the same. I am transferring this love to my son. Love to all. We can do it!
Over 60% so far say 9 to 12 and then the next 24% are saying play offs. Hello here we go and 5% saying we'll be Champions. You R's Let's Go!!! We can do it.
Not me haha I am thinking top 8 - if injuries don't impact us like last two seasons we should go well Also we have a great opportunity to start the season well too playing teams that finished low last season.

When we face teams who are big like Derby and Wall who will bombard our box with high crosses, FK's and throw-ins, we will need more than Dunne, plus at best Madsen, Varane and Kone to help him back there. Edwards is good but neither him, JCS or Morrison are really big, strong or good enough in the air to stop them. Not sure Akindileni is ready yet. Think we need to find at least 1 huge MF to play CB alongside Dunne against these teams, 2 really with our injury history.

Morrison is decent in the air. That’s the main part of his game. And JCS is objectively big! He’s 6’2” and fairly broad. And Edwards is meant to be our star centre back. He has to be able to mix it otherwise he won’t be a star or going anywhere in his career.
However, I agree with your sentiment about character, what I call hairy boll*cks, within the side. I’d like another gnarly pro or two in the squad, certainly. Kamara is meant to provide a bit of that. I agree we could do with more. But this squad reflects the strategy: sign youth and potential to play the ball to feet from keeper to forward. We’ve signed a lot of players to fit that. It’s fair to hope/expect it to bear some dividends soon.

Sorry, missed this.
I think we should progress noticeably this season for all the reasons Clive (and others have outlined). Finishing similar to last year would be a failure, and if we do that without a big sale or two in next 12 months, it’ll be a very poor reflection on Nourry. But I think we have the squad to progress, certainly the first team. He’s spent a lot of money by our standards, but the squad is certainly much better, so I think we will move from on our perennial 15th/16th to 9th-12th somewhere.
Kolli? I like him. I think it’s the club who are more at fault here. I think he has the talent to be a success at Championship level. He’s a good finisher with a good first touch. That is a lot of the battle for an attacking player at this level. He’d be on the bench for me every week and coming on every week too. He’s one of our own. He’s come through our academy. He has effectively cost us very little. If he has one good season at his age (say 8 goals, 5-10 assists), he’ll be worth a big wedge.
For a player trading club, for a club desperately trying to promote a pathway from the youth set up to the first team, who is investing in Cat 1 status, has a new training ground, and is trying to attract talent at 8-15yrs old, Kolli should absolutely be your poster boy. Even more so QPR being based in an ethnically diverse area of the UK. He should be “the” guy in all the marketing material.
For two seasons they have tried to force him out on loan, and made him train with the kids. But he wants to play for QPR. He’s a QPR fan. He wants to make it here. Yes, his dad is a pain in the backside, his family’s social media stuff is unhelpful, and Kolli hasn’t done himself any favours with the odd bit of disobedient behaviour. But he’s young. You are going to get this with young talent coming through an academy. The leadership of the club needs to be able to handle and harness it. Not let its ego get in the way of what’s best for QPR and take the line of “if you won’t do exactly what we say, you won’t play and we’ll get rid of you.” That is not in the best interest of the club. It is in the best interests of insecure leadership.
From what I have heard he’s liked, his attitude in training and around the club is fine. He’s obviously nowhere near the talent of a Bowles or Taarabt, but his behaviour is nowhere near as disobedient or bad as theirs was. Can you imagine how the club’s leadership would have handled them? We’d have missed out on our best player in our history, and never had that promotion season under Warnock. I am not saying Kolli is or will ever be that influential, but it seems utterly bonkers to me we aren’t embracing him, giving him game time and making him the face of marketing collateral in the local area. He is miles better technically than Lloyd and Bennie, and probably Obikwu (harder to judge). I don’t think he starts when everyone is fit, but he’d be on the bench. And everyone won’t be fit through the season, so he can have impact. Feels a big waste how the club are handling the situation.

I don't see too many reasons why we can't finish top half. Charles is highly rated A settled back 4 of Mbengue, Dunne, Edwards, Kemper. Can at least 2 of Vale, Madsen, Chair have good seasons? Can Kone and Burrell improve on last seasons haul?
The doubts are a lack of a hairy assed DM who'll protect the back line. We surely can't have as many disruptive injuries as last season.

For what it's worth, Gab Sutton's just published his full set of Championship predictions, and has us in... 8th, just sneaking into the playoffs!
He also has West Ham in 3rd, and Lincoln avoiding the drop, when they've been 1st and 24th in every other prediction I've seen, so make of that what you will.
I think 9th to 12th feels about right for us: we've definitely got the potential to be in and around the playoffs, but I think cracking the top 8 might just be a step too far for us this year.

SO who are we looking to finish above? So at the moment it's 23 other teams - has to be the aim / dream. I get that.
Now boil it down to the clubs you'd think we should finish above:- Blackburn, Bolton, Cardiff, Charlton, Lincoln, Pompey..... then you're getting into territory of West Brom, Stoke and maybe PNE? Thats 9 clubs making you around 15th. I'd say at least 2 or 3 of those clubs listed above will have far better seasons than you'd expect so that narrows your cohort field down a fair bit and we're in my favourite zone of looking over the shoulder and the sky could fall in at any second.
The Yin to that Yang is it's just as easy for any of the clubs you'd expect to pi$$ it have a nightmare a lah Leicester and to a certain extend Blades and N'arich last season. Plus we could actually stay injury free, fit, have defenders wanting to die for three points and Obikwu have a breakout season with 15 goals by Christmas..... (the bar opened two hours ago and the booze is free).
I hope the optimistic view is correct but we are a club that continues to circle the drain under this ownership and I really don't see much has changed over the summer to convince people we're going to push on and trouble the right half of the table. I'll re-state -- I of course HOPE we trouble the play offs but I just cannot see it.

I've never rated Morrison as he has always seemed to slow to react to dangerous situations to me. Edwards is a very good CB but simply not big or good enough in the air when we face a team of huge players like Derby of last season who pump our box aerially every chance they get for 90 minutes. JCS, if fit, is a good back-up for Edwards but no better aerially. Strenghening central midfield would be a lesser priority for me as we have the physicality there with Varane and Madsen, plus to a lesser extent probably with Kamara, and also Edwards can do a decent job there if we had a big, strong enough partner for Dunne at CB.
