We were far too open particularly in the 2nd half after plenty of warnings in the 1st half.
It was clear early on that Newcastle are a much better team & fancied filling their boots. JFH's biggest mistake was not flooding the midfield & shutting up shop at half time as it was clear we were going to take a battering.
The main aim in the 2nd half should've been to stop Shelvey & try to keep the score down. Can't remember many better Championship level performances at Loftus Road than Shelvey tonight. |  | | |

Actually, for all the defensive players, he picked a wide open 4-4-1-1 system. I thought when I saw the line up it would be 4-2-3-1 with perch and Henry as the two and Cousins back to the right to double up on Ritchie. In fact we played a flat midfield four with Perch wide right.
Having persisted with a massively overly defensive set up against Blackburn and Preston he then opened us up against that lot. Mad stuff. |  | | |
