You know, this might, just might help UK football in general.

After all, the money coming into the UK from Sky has, as i think is acknowledged, had a profound (i think for poorer) effect on football in general cascading down all the leagues making anyone outside the 'premiership' poorer and forgotten people.
Just look at the amount of coverage on tv or in the press or on radio that this league gets compared with the rest put together.

No one really gives a flying one for anything outside the Premiership.

So how might this help?

Well, if the money is now to be found in China, then major players might possibly follow the lucre rather than come to England to play for a paltry 250k per week.
This could cascade to all premier clubs, and as such make Sky want to invest their dollars there instead.....after all, look at the Chinese population that could get tapped for them?

So it could, just could, make football take a long and hard look at itself due to the majority of money and best players going elsewhere. And start cutting their cloth accordingly, thus helping (yes im probably dreaming here) out the lesser league clubs.

Personally unless we all drop sky overnight (which we wont(i dont have it by the way or any other football channels etc) as we love our obsessive football culture) and everyone else's footy Chanel's then this thought is merely a pipe dream.
However i am interested in others opinions.

For a man who claimed to be homesick six years ago when he was at Man City he doesn't half spend a lot of time outside the country.

This could very well be the start of a mass player exodus. Could even things up a little.

Unfortunately, no. The CFA have now tightened things up. They are now limiting the number of foreigners both in a team and on the park. Their complaint is that it is detrimental to the development of local players.. now where have I heard that before?

Well, he always said when he was in England that he wanted to get closer to Argentina. Then he went to Europe which was further away. And now he is in China, where he is a little closer to Argentina. Poor guy... One day he will make it home.

Never knowingly right.
