Only problem with it all, Lofty is that it will be up to the FA, the Premier League and the Football League to sort out what's left. What's the chances they bring it back to a sport or go hell bent on getting another cash cow? I think I'd rather give Hughes or Redknapp another chance with our board's money than trust that lot to get it right...

I would be surprised if the FA, etc had much of a word in this. The real decision makers will be the broadcast companies. If their product is devalued through the elimination of the top clubs then they would step in to protect their product. That said, someone suggested to me that perhaps the PL would contain those six clubs' B teams. Given that the FL and PL have co-ordinated to create the stupid cup competition that contains such B teams, I would not be surprised. It would also mean that these same clubs, now with more money would then buy up enough players for two teams thus diluting the rest of the competition even more than they already do.

The only way the media would stop it is if they all got together to agree not to show it. Cannot see that happening as it will be a real money spinner. I would not watch it if you paid me but there would be a massive world audience. As for the FA allowing those teams that left to have a B side it would really show who runs the game. Cannot see how the FA could possibly justify it

The premier league and eufa have created its own monsters. They have made them so rich that the clubs are now more powerful than the ruling bodies. Let them go but they must leave their domestic league not create another B team to compete. Then if they get relegated from the champions super premier league (or whatever the marketing department comes up with) they have to reapply to the domestic league and join at the bottom league.
