Some logic there, but if they had stayed around surely they would be held to account for selling their ground back to their owner under S&P rules? By flying off to the promised land, they will take the need for a decision away from the incompetents in charge, at least for one season anyway.
But every team getting one new season in the Prem is another one who will be supercharged for 4 years by parachute payments.
Big Racist John's Villa, on the other hand, are simply odious from top to bottom. Terry and Smith in the managerial posts, Cowardly Kodija up front getting away with kicking Lumley in the face, their reaction to Leeds' perfectly fair goal against them a few weeks' back with no-one getting punished, the ridiculous amount of money they have been able to spend - Bolasie was ON THE BENCH against us FFS, £15m for Kodija, Tammy Abraham from the scum wouldn't have been cheap, Fragile, soft lad, Grealish - complete canute's, thelot of 'em.
If they stay down, they will overcome S&P by selling Grealish for tens of millions and will, undoubtedly, go up next season.
So, on reflection and safe in the knowledge that Derby will continue to choke next season too, maybe getting rid of Big Racist John, Justice League Dean and the band of merry tools would be best after all.
