I’ve been chatting to various work colleagues who support different Championship teams, ie, QPR, Fulham, Charlton, Sheffield Wednesday etc....... and with the exception of one Brentford fan, all of them have said that they don’t want to be in the Premier League. We pretty much all hate it with a passion.
I know if we win enough games we’ll end up back there, but I’d only want us there to bank the money and reduce our debt. There’s no enjoyment whatsoever going into a league season hoping to finish 17th.
Some of the people at work who actually go to matches in the Premier League understand where we’re coming from. It’s the tossers who support Man Utd, Man City or Liverpool, and who’ve never been to see them play who think we’re talking rubbish. |  | | |  |

Many Derby fans felt the same way and weren't too disappointed that they lost in the play-off final.
Unless you gamble, successfully, like Wolves did, promotion to the PL is a poisoned chalice - football wise. Great for the money men, provided you don't blow all the PL dosh on silly transfer fees and sky-high wages.
In our case, should it happen, I'd like to see us invest heavily in the training ground and a new stadium before blowing £100m+ on players. |  |

Well , I am a "breath of fresh air" then!
Grew up in South Africa and started supporting QPR around 1986 when I read in a typed 'The Cure' newsletter that Robert Smith was a Cure fan. Wegerle (born South African) on the books gave me a double connection and I haven't supported anyone else since then. Now live in The Netherlands and remember walking in Amsterdam when the news came through that we beat Sheffield Wednesday away and won promotion back to the Championship.
Only seen us live ONCE, away at Newcastle, Mark Hughes' first game in charge. :(

The championship is fast becoming epl2 where most clubs know they will never play in the champions league but they want the riches of getting bummed by salah Kane and co .

I took my 12-year old to London in May and he LOVED it. His favorite city in the world. RAF museum was the highlight. Only game we could get tickets for, was Fulham-Newcastle ... but its so damn easy to take a 7am flight from Amsterdam and return the same evening. Easy to do an in-out just for a short walk-around, QPR game and then back home... we'll see how the weekend schedules open up, but I really want to do this. | | | |

Speaking with a couple of Wolves season ticket holders last week and they are loving it. The club have a structure and appear to be moving in the right direction - what the Europa will do is anyone's guess, but they are a happy bunch at the moment. The chairman sticks £500 behind the bar at home and away games so the fans can have a pie and a pint on the club. They are not going to win the "best league in the world" but they had a rather good time last season and, as I say, on the whole, are enjoying their time.
