Wells off in January? 13:01 - Nov 4 with 4248 viewsdavman

The S*n (yes I know) are apparently reporting that Nakhi could be off to another Championship club in January for £6m.

1. The named club is Birmingham. Yep, Redknapp's last financial disaster who copped a FFP penalty last season. So, how the hell can they find and justify spending £6m so soon after failing the rolling three year rule?
2. If Nakhi doesn't want to go, can he refuse a deal? I can't see there being any law (or rule) that forces a player to move if he does not want to.

Any views?

Can we go out yet?

Sounds like bullshit. Not even a club with R*dkn*pp as manager would be stupid enough to lash out £6m on a player they could get for nothing in another six months.

Let's hope it is BS!

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

it is the problem with loan players -there is always a chance this could happen.

we desperately need to produce a striker of our own (note: this is not a slight on Chris Ramsey and co - they have produced, it just would be nice to get a striker out of our youth/U23 programme!)

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it

@davman '2. If Nakhi doesn't want to go, can he refuse a deal?'

He might have to go into hiding if they come for him.

He went to Burnley 2 years ago for under £5m. He'll have 6 months left on his contract in January. Burnley will be happy with half of that back on him, if that. Our problem is not the fee, we could probably manage that. It's the wages. Unless we find a way to sponsor some of our players with other endorsements then wages are now the issue. We have to have a cap on such things. We can't start paying higher wages to one player over others.

Wells would love to join on a perm. His family have settled, he loves playing here. He is enjoying playing here. But, the likelihood is that Burnley will sell him at a loss in Jan and we won't be able to do the wages bit.

That said, if Burnley were to terminate his agreement in Jan and settle an amount he would be due then Burnley would still save some money, we could get him on a free and then have time to structure some way of paying him over a 2 year contract. Obviously we can't compete if someone offers him a lot more money or they do sell him.

Never knowingly right.

He is on a free in the summer so I cant see him going for £6m!

This sounds very much like a Sun journalist who hasn't clocked/doesn't care that he's out of contract next summer and Birmingham can therefore talk to him from January and have him for absolutely nothing next summer. Now Birmingham are stupid, don't get me wrong, but they're not stupid enough, nor able given their FFP issues, to pay £6m for a decent Championship striker they can have for free five months later.

We should hire as a player / community scheme representative then half his salary is accounted for in FFP and half isn't

We keep worrying about our keeper and defenders when we could lose both strikers.

Our club is being put together with sticking plaster. This is why many fans have not returned to Loftus Rd.

Just imagine how much Brum would be prepared to pay for him had he scored that last minute pen against them last season!

Ridiculous story.

Hitc is a nonsense click bait site which generally manufactures headlines plagiarising stories from other websites and publications. No obvious journalism takes place and nothing at all in the way of fact checking.

Never knowingly understood
