Titles, relegations, promotions etc aren't won or lost in one game. There are 37 other PL games that would have influenced the outcome. (which, as frustrating as it was, people shouldn't keep going on about that Norwich game in '76).
He should have had the strength of character to apply the rules and if anyone tried to blame him (his worry) he could easily say;
"The Spurs players got themselves sent off, blame them"

The guy allowed players to play, Christian name, nickname, whatever bleedin name, what does it matter.
As a one off, he handled the Tottenham game well, there could have been all sorts kicking off if he binned two, three, four ... who cares he managed the game and it was job done.
The sooner we get referees in the middle and not automatons the better.
Oh and as for Baptiste last Saturday, I’ve no idea what was said but what a shame for him eh? Ref was not only in ear shot but standing directly in front of him, sometimes there are comments deserving of a caution and it’s just tough that it was his second, can’t appeal two yellows, old enough to know better, move on.
