I hope that the club have finally got the message that we aren't happy just throwing the towel in for every cup game! I know that Steve Mc got asked about throwing away that League Cup chance away at Blackpool....so maybe he will take Sunday semi seriously?
Who know? I hope so...i would love us to be in the hat on Monday night and then draw Chelscum at home!
However I can see that he has to rest various people, plus a couple like Pav and Lumley have knocks.
For what it's worth here is my punt at the starting eleven for Sunday. 4, 3, 3 again.
Not bothered with this and I guess Leeds will field a weak side. Give our main players a rest and play some of the fringe squad players and some of our U23's.
Why risk any of the players that have done so well and blow a slim chance of getting into the play-offs?

I saw Leeds (mostly reserves and youth) play Sutton Utd in the FA Cup two seasons ago and they were awful. It was men against boys and wasn't an upset when Sutton won. If that is the quality we face then it is a route to the next round and a glamour tie.

we have no more midweek games in January, we don't have to rest anyone I don't think apart from Pay with his injury. The players have lots of time between games to recover. Pick our best XI and have a go.
From what I have just read on the offy it looks like he will name quite a few regulars, does seem as though he will definitely be resting Lumley, Furlong, BFG and Wells.
Welllllllllllll - he says that FA Cup is different to the League Cup but then goes on to list 5 players carrying knocks - so don't expect to see any of that 5.
Without Lynch, Furs and BFG - its Hall and ??? at centre back I guess?

I would expect
Ingram kakay Lynch Hall Bidwell
Osayi samuel Cousins Scowen Pav Freeman Oteh
I wouldn't even have Ingram on the bench. Ive seen more clean sheets in a knocking shop.

I thought that was quite an amusing read. This is not like the Carabao Cup, so we will play a strong team because the FA Cup is special. Then goes on to list most of the 1st team that won't be playing...
Ingram Kakay Hall Jude the cat Niko Smyth Manning Chair BOS Oteh Spark the cat
I can fully understand what the club might do this weekend, with resting players.
The problem is that football itself, with the lure of TV moneys, has long since abandoned its most famous competition and that is sad to see.
You could argue that, with relegation a very remote possibility now (?) and FFP almost dictating that the club doesn't blaze a path toward Premier League football next season (?!) , this season represents a perfect opportunity for giving the Cup a real go. But what is the point if the rest of football doesn't value it either??
I remember 1982. I remember the tussle with Forest in 1978. I remember a packed LR against Liverpool in 1990 and Old Trafford (Paul Ince) in 1995. But those days are all long gone.
I hate to write this, but the FA Cup 3rd Round weekend almost feels like an 'International Break' weekend nowadays - and that is truly tragic to feel.

Seems like a good reason to give it a go and hope for some much needed extra income that can come from a decent cup run
