| Ref 20:20 - Dec 6 with 1681 views | WatfordR | Rather nice to be able to call out his abysmal performance having won rather than it sounding like an excuse because we lost. Right down there with the worst of the erstwhile Mr Styles. I'm assuming incompetent rather than anything more sinister because we did win, but he gave us absolutely nothing all afternoon, and was pretty close to the most effective performer for the other lot. Would be very happy not to lay eyes on him at one of our games again. | | | | |
| Ref on 20:29 - Dec 6 with 1611 views | Logman | Yeah the last time we had him he was OK, but today he was back to his meddling ways. How that wasn't a foul on Mbengue when he was bringing it out nobody knows. Also, the head injuries. OK, blow up if you see one and blow up immediately. But not when a player seems to go down after the incident and the game has gone on for seconds. | | | |
| Ref on 20:33 - Dec 6 with 1567 views | essextaxiboy | He did well to play the advantage for the foul on Kone before the third goal . | | | |
| Ref on 20:34 - Dec 6 with 1556 views | OldPedro | There were a few occasions when he gave West Brom free kicks for soft fouls and then didn't give us free kicks for worse fouls. After we went 2-0 up, it felt like we went about 15 mins without being awarded a free kick. Typical Ward really, no idea what's going on and no feel for the game. | |

Only because it fell into his 10 min segment of Nothing Is A Foul. As opposed to his previous ten minutes of Everything Is A Foul, and the ten minutes that followed it. Should not be refereeing games at this level. Everybody in this league knows it as well.

| Ref on 20:44 - Dec 6 with 1451 views | Lanhoop | Was bloody funny when Mbengue was injured and treated and he then let him trot into their penalty area for the free kick. We could have joined in with WBA’s, “You’re just a tw@t with a whistle”. | | | |

I believe the rule is that as the player who fouled Mbengue was booked, Mbengue does not have to leave the field. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
| Ref on 21:59 - Dec 6 with 1174 views | numptydumpty | He was just bad all round. He gave some terrible decisions against West Brom also. I thought every time a player gets treatment, he has to go off. Hadn't known of the fact that rule is invalid if the offending player is booked. | |

I knew the law & so I should hope that the referee would know it. Mind you, as it was Mr Ward I was a bit surprised! My memory tells me that he was originally a linesman in the EFL & a good one at that. Why change from something you're good at to something your very poor at?

I think it’s up to the ref whether he makes them leave the field or not.
| Ref on 00:27 - Dec 7 with 617 views | Match82 | My dad is a former ref (got up to football league level as linesman but never did prem). This was the first year he hasn't had a season ticket for 15 years at QPR but he decided to go today for the first time this season. Got halfway there before he saw Gavin Ward was the ref, thought about not bothering. That's how bad his reputation is at this point. | | | |

Good to have survived the Gavin award ordeal. Of his many eccentricities the worst were booking RND for kicking the ball away when it was Dunne. Worst of all we had 5 mins 1st half injury time ( in which we scored- thanks for the fake head injuries WBA) yet only 7 in second half when we had the medical emergency that took 10 minutes on its own. I was expecting 10 maybe even 15 added minutes. And isn’t it a bit sick how they feign head injuries when their manager retired because of one ?
| Ref on 08:36 - Dec 7 with 193 views | stevec | First half he did his best to somehow ruin what was already a pretty poor game. Second half I can only assume one of his linesmen spent the half time break whistling ‘you’re just a tw*t with a whistle’ and it finally sank in. Second half he treated it as if fouls had been abolished and it turned into an exciting game of football. To be fair, RND incident should never be given as a penalty, full backs dropping to the floor with nobody behind them is unacceptable and Smyth does what Smyth does and nine times out of ten, not a foul either. | | | |

Maybe a player claiming a head injury should leave the pitch for 1 minute rather than the 30 seconds for a normal injury? That would sort out who was faking it.
| Ref on 08:43 - Dec 7 with 161 views | Wilkinswatercarrier | One of the worse refereeing performances I've seen for a while, and in this league that is saying something. Got to look at the opposition as well. Came with zero ambition and were sh×thousing from 10 minutes with head injuries, constant pulling of shirts. A competent referee would have sorted that. Poor referee and a really poor opposition. Did like their striker though. | |
