Interesting piece that. Hadn't realised that he had previously been at Man City before.
Going to be an odd scenario having two No 1's at QPR - I wonder how they will manage the situation? Obviously great to have the choice, but I wonder who will get the preference... |

Two in a week for me.
Firstly Obsession - really dark and twisted psychological horror film with underlying themes about toxic, coercive male behaviour. Great battles between where the control and power lies between the two protagonists in a very scary scenario. Some real jump out of seat moments... highly recommend.
Second - The Christophers - The central performance from Ian Mckellen is superb, ably supported by Michaela Coel, who is a little stiff in parts but rises to the challenge. Both comedic and moving, a great storyline about longing and a love story mixed with art. Really enjoyed it. |

Good shout that - Motherwell had a very decent season and I was surprised to see the manager off to Toulouse - thought he would have got a decent opportunity in the Championship..... |

So true.
I've been a critic but from the original set up, the way they managed the first 25 mins, to the counter attacking performance, he was spot on.
Was slightly concerned about the defensive changes, especially at 10 men and 20 mins to go... but full credit, great management. |

Full disclosure. I did that Damned reunion tour looking after Brian. I also did the original Damned reunion show at The T&C in 83/84 or whenever. I worked with Lords of the new Church for 4/5 years on and off. So I'm Slightly biased, but Brian's songs still stand up, still Damned's best songs.
I get the thoughts on London Calling - its a seminal album. Sandinista feels more personal to me, understand your point about the kids singing etc (Micky Gallagher's son Ben BTW) but its those flaws that make it stand out for me.
Sandinista does make me wonder what The Clash might have become, had they stayed together - because the BAD stuff is/was excellent too.... |

The Damned ceased to be the Damned without Brian James IMO. |

Not really.
I also love The Clash - have done since I first saw them in 1977 and saw them many times afterwards. I love all their albums, but Sandinista is the album that demonstrated the move from their raw first album, through Give em enough (my least favourite) through London Calling and then the progression to reflect all their many influences on Sandinista. IMO, its their most accomplished album that resonates with me on many levels. I Can listen to it back to front and front to back without skipping.
Its all about personal preference - and for me, this is the one. |

As well as beating us to the signing of Wigan's keeper Tickle, Bristol city have also signed Sam Greenwood, who looks like quite a decent acquisition. Appears that they are looking to fill some of the same spaces we are.... but a bit quicker. Also interested to see how their new manager performs....

Going to buck the trend here, but I think its a really smart marketing ploy.
Very different approach bringing the club right up to date.
I also like both the kits from what I can see of them.
As pointed out earlier in the thread, probably not aimed at the age demographic that frequent this message board but I don't understand the grumpier element being so negative about it... I think It's different and its smart. |
