I wasn't there today, but a mate phoned and said he saw Orla Guerin in the Bush this morning. |
| Forum Thread | Autumn…. at 14:03 17 Sep 2024
…..what a wonderful time of the year. Mellow fruitfulness, Red Fox on sale in Fuller's pubs and QPR just weeks away from playing at home on a Saturday afternoon (surely not…). God is in his heaven. |

Inducted into Forever Rs…he's called Micky these days. One of the first players I can remember. Sadly he was a bit of a target for boo boys. OK he wasn't a world beater but had gumption. Anyone else remember him - a lifetime ago admittedly. |
| Forum Thread | More tech help ? at 20:39 18 Aug 2024
I've been trying to embed a few pics on the White City Estate Memories site. I've put an occasional pic on LFW using imgur. I find now imgur will only let me embed a link and not the image. ( you must have heard of the White City Estate, I'm told some football fans sing a little ditty about it). |
| Forum Thread | VPN - Again… at 14:57 16 Aug 2024
I've finally got my VPN and was hoping to make my debut tomorrow. However, offish just saying “limited access due to contractual matters” or something. They used to list countries that were acceptable. Any help ? |
| Forum Thread | It ain't 'arf gonna be 'ot tomorrer mum at 18:03 11 Aug 2024
Possible 35 in London. Thank Christ it wasn't yesterday. Still the season of mellow fruitfulness is just around the corner - QPR kicking off at 3pm and Red Fox on sale in Fuller's pubs. Yes, please! |

I have to say the new CEO has significantly improved the prematch advice to fans. It used to be “no running onto the pitch” Now it's “supporters must not encroach onto the playing surface” “Supporters must not behave inappropriately” is good but next season it may well be “ supporters must comport themselves in an orderly and mannerly fashion in keeping with the situation in which they find themselves and not indulge in persiflage with supporters of the opposing team”. |
| Forum Thread | Ear bandages at 13:30 19 Jul 2024
I kid you not……I'm in the pub and three women in the corner are wearing ear bandages a la Trump. I was going to go over with clenched fist and say”fight, fight, fight” but maybe they've just had treatment for ear complaints ! |

For years I've been saying I'll get a VPN to watch Rs away. I've never gotten around to it but think I will this season because of optimism about the side and being precluded (ooh) from watching the midweek games because of the Sky deal. I think it was Brian that posted a ten part guide which I promptly lost. Anyone ? |
| Forum Thread | Girona…. at 23:40 1 Jul 2024
I thought that was a full bodied Spanish red wine, but the squad has arrived for pre-season. No mention of personnel. One name we all know will be missing, but as far as I can tell, no word of Willock and it'll be July 2nd in 15 mins. |
| Forum Thread | The Concept album at 23:11 9 Jun 2024
Generally thought to have started in the progrock era but in my collection I have two from the mid-fifties : West Coast Suite by Mel Torme which is about, well, the West Coast of the USA, and Just Strike A Match by April Ames which is an album about cigarettes ( I kid you not) . Favourite concept albums anyone ? |

June is bustin' out all over. Or so the song from the film said. I think Messrs Fuller Smith & Turner have ensured a good night's sleep. G'night. |

| Forum Thread | 380 million years…….. at 11:02 16 Sep 2022
Since we last beat Blackburn. A fossilised fish has been found in Western Australia reckoned to be 380 million years old. Scientists say because we have two of everything we should have two of, plus the shape of our mouths, we are descended from fish. How come there are still fish about then ? |
| Forum Thread | Denis Howell…. at 08:57 7 Aug 2022
Could be the answer to our right back problem. No seriously, those of a certain age will remember him being “Minister of Floods” when we had the drought in '76. No sooner had he been appointed, it started slashing down for days on end. Hosepipe bans on the way for most of the country and I understand, steam iron bans for some. I reckon Boris would be a good Minister for Floods. |

I've always been torn between Beethoven's Ode To Joy and the audience interpolation of 'ave a banana during the singing of Let's All Go Down The Strand. |
| Forum Thread | BBC 100th anniversary at 07:54 29 Jul 2022
Christ that went quick ! The government, especially the forgotten but not gone Boris, have had it in for the Beeb for years now, and I wouldn't join that hostility. However, I hate the way the corporation has dumbed down in order to compete with commercial channels. Not being a snob really but I'd like the BBC to focus on more serious and artistic content. Anyone else ? |
| Forum Thread | Box Office Closed at 08:44 10 May 2022
The Box Office is closed today, no doubt to get the staff mentally prepared for the rush of people renewing tomorrow, when next season's prices are announced. |
