Dyer was in his 30s when we got him and we were in the Prem. With Dyer we had age and injuries against us. This lad could be a compete crock but probably his last chance to make a football career. So age and probably a bit of desire is in our favour here. Our medical team track record is against us though. But I want us to sign either players from lower league or abroad on cheap to develop or good young / mid age players that have had few injuries and need a “restart”. |

A foul. Clearly. But very different to punching people because you lose or running on the pitch (when a sub) and celebrating in front of the opposition. 1 is a football incident, the other 2 are not and should be punished severely. Not to mention Messi trying to get someone sent off. Amount of kids wearing his shirt, is that what we’re going to see Sunday league kids football now? |

I don’t think they get called out enough for it by the “pundits”. Shearer talking about @we know how much they want to win…”. Their behaviour on the pitch, when they win and when they lose….it’s embarrassing. |

Surprised as those stats, didn’t realize they’d played so many games. I thought Pep had barely started Foden last season. I’d have picked Palmer over Madueke. Not really a fan of Foden based on his England performances. But anyway, I still think we had players to manage out that 2nd half. Oh well, another 4 years eh? |

Fair enough. I can’t really see him as a Xavi type but that’s probably because he’s played in that more advanced role. And I think he lacks the physicality for that position. I actually think JFH and Jordan nailed the issue it was 1) player mentality and then 2) compounded by decisions that made it worse. 1) is very difficult to explain and solve. |

Lots of talk about Palmer and Foden. But they barely played this season. I don’t think anyone (maybe Bellingham excepted) should just walk into the squad. For me, I think we needed to take Kane off and have someone with more pace to get us up the pitch. Not to mention maybe keep Gordon on and have Rashford with pace on the other side. Anderson and a fit Rice are a good partnership. Rice was off it for last couple of games and was huge miss. |

Pleased we seem to have addressed 2 of the 3 problem areas. Especially if Charles is coming in on loan. Bit concerned Lakerche is still out as would be fine with him as cover. Now please let’s get a couple of central midfielders in. |

But on top half you have France, Spain, Morocco and Portugal. Think it’s pretty balanced. |

I’d be tempted to play my old mum at centre half instead of the current lot. Both are good defenders but together, they are terrible. I can only think they are terrified due to the full backs. Lewis Hall should be there but can only work with what we’ve got. I’d go Burns and Stones, O’reilly has to play because no one else. Right back? Maybe we do have to go with Rice and play Anderson with Bellingham. |

Anderson kept going throughout. Some bad, some good. Rashford was abysmal. And the back 4? 🤦♂️ |

Maybe not better overall than Botham but responsible for us winning World Cup for first time. |

If I was a Leicester fan I’d be absolutely fuming at effort Ayew showed yesterday compared to that showed for his club. Granted I’m basing that on his efforts against us but still! Shows huge issues they had with character of certain players. |

Felix Nmecha and Ayyoub Bouaddi are 2 standout central midfielders for me. Both physical, great technique, do defensive work, great eye for a pass, good shot. |

Croatia in 2004? Thought we were excellent that night. But for me World Cup is what matters. I know Euros is meant to be tougher to win but World Cup is what’s it’s all about. Edit - sorry meant to respond to your post above! [Post edited 18 Jun 11:26]

Maybe I’m old as I used to look at path to final and pray we got the easy teams. And didn’t really care how we won. But now I want us to play all the best / biggest countries and knock them out. I love the fact he made those subs so we didn’t just sit back and defend the lead. |

Anderson is absolute class and difference maker for us. He’s still running in 92nd minute like it’s the 1st! And he’s great on the ball. Best England have played in major tournament (World Cup, Euros) against a top side since we beat Croatia in 2004. |
 | Forum Reply | Social media ban for under 16’s at 09:18 16 Jun 2026
For me the main problems for kids these days is that there is 1) no escape and 2) addiction. When we were younger, went to school and went home. But now if a child is having problems at school they will follow them home and I can imagine this can be impossible for them to deal with. Especially when anything that gets posted can get shared and stored for all to see. On the addiction, it’s even more difficult given that most adults have head in phone / device for a long time. But it’s not healthy. The ban has right intentions but for me, it doesn’t address the above. But then, I’m not sure how you can address these issues. |

Pretty amazing that with so many sides, and yet there’s been only one battering. Teams know that if they are well organised, you can give the best sides a tough game. |
