Queens Park Rangers v Blackpool Your Report added at 15:13:20
Dykes should have had three in the first half before Blackpool scored. We were slow in the build-up, with too much side-to-side and back-passing. Blackpool played with energy and countered quickly, and were as good as I've ever seen them. I thought Roberts and Laird played well, but agree with the comments about Paal and Johansen, the latter of whom seems to carrying on where he left off at the end of last season. We've seen him play so much better, but not for a long time.

The penalty was never a foul - really soft - and it changed the whole shape of the game. Rangers weren't great and didn't deserve to win, but were much better in the second half and on the front foot when the penalty was awarded. That said, the first and third Brentford goals were entirely down to appalling defending. We need to stop shipping goals (and giving away penalties - that's six we've conceded this season). Easier said than done, it seems!

Totally agree with Geoff78, every point tallies with my impression of the game. Warburton reckons we showed too much respect; I felt we didn't show enough and believed the hype following our recent run of good results. Too much tippy-tappy, fancy-Dan football when we should have been grafting like Albion, who were not only skilful but played like they really wanted it.

For all their possession, Wednesday didn't really threaten. Plan A in the first half seemed to be knock it around at the back, knock it around a bit more, use the wings. Plan B (second half) was similar to plan A, but try to get it through the middle. There was no plan C. They looked quite good - sharp, fit, skilful - until our opening goal, and then it became apparent that they didn't really have any more ideas.

That was the best QPR performance I've seen this season. Sure, there were a few scares and "under the cosh" moments, but we defended well and were swift to attack, which was so good to see after a couple of seasons of trying to play through the opposition and finding 11 men in the penalty area by the time we get there.

Well done lads! I'm looking forward to you repeating the performance against Villa on Friday. Please don't disappoint me! :-)

Am I right in saying that every single Norwich booking was for a foul on Mackie? I was at the match, but can't remember of one of them was for a foul on someone else.

We let them dominate the midfield in the first half. SWP was ineffectual, and gave the ball away in daft positions a couple of times. Townsend looked great, and Jenus oozed class. Taarabt should have wellied that penalty instead of placing it. Both goalies played blinders.

For most of the game Spurs only threatened from set pieces, and scored their winner from a quick break as we pressed (yet again). I don't think they had the skill to play through us.

A draw would have been fair on balance of play (and stats), but an R's win would not have flattered us.

As others have said, this was an improvement on the Chelsea game (where we were pretty good). We are defnitely the best team in the division not to have won a game. Apart from "Narch", every team we have played this season is currently in the top half of the table, and most of those games have been away.

However, as someone else said, we need a win, if only to shut up the numpties baying for Hughes' head.

It's a shame that we took our foot off the gas after half an hour, but understandable under the circumstances. Leeds still needed an awful deflection to win, and I hope their fans don't read anything into this result. Although a good side for the Championship, tLeeds have a long way to go to be as good as most of the teams above them this year.

Rangers are deserved champions. Let's hope West Ham stay up and Reading get promoted, so that we have a good number of "local" matches to attend next season.

Why oh why did we not put this to bed when we had the chance? We were totally dominant in the first half, but we seemed to lack the hunger and killer instinct, and were happy to outplay Hull without creating chances. Adel is brilliant, but it is so frustrating watching build up play that repeatedly ends with him "fannying around", rather than seeing the ball being passed to someone else less flamboyant but perhaps more focussed on getting the ball into the net in a straightforward manner. He's a terriffic talent, but not every attack has to go through him, surely?

I'm hoping not to sound too much like a stuck record, but the ref was truly useless. He missed so many pushes, etc., as well as giving several free kicks in the second half that neither side were expecting. I had the misfortune to sit with the Reading fans, and was thoroughly irritated by their constant braying for free kicks and bookings as their men once again hit the deck under strong - but not dirty - challenges. It was the same last year, and the same at Loftus Road. It is a tactic they seem to employ against the R's, knowing that it is their team's only chance of beating us. Such a well deserved result!! :-)

Excellent result, but a few things stick in my mind:
Faurlin being outmuscled in midfield. He's a bit too small for the likes of Olofinjana.
Taarabt trying to go through the middle rather too often, and taking a (blocked) shot, rather than passing.
Bellamy splitting the defence a few times. He's a tw*t, but impressive on the day.
Cardiff's kick and run tactics - after Dave Jones saying during the week that's how the R's play, while his boys play on the floor.
The fantastic atmosphere. 'Shame it can't be like that for every match. The best team won!!!
