I think this is the best squad we have put together since the Warburton years and feel we have reason to be optimistic IF the medical department can hold it together.
Getting/Keeping Madsen, Kone, and Burrell fit will be decisive. It would be nice if we could finally see what Poku can do also, he looks like he could be a game-changer.
Feel we are still short in midfield and need another body in there with a much-needed loan for Morgan. He has been decent for us, but I think he has stagnated and needs to get 30-40 games under his belt.
Also think we need another full back through the door. Having to rely on Larkeche/esq or playing JCS for the 5 games he is fit at LB terrifies me. |

Field is a pivotal reason behind us still being a championship club, especially in the critchley/beale debacle and I would still have him playing in front of Varane.
A good fee received however, I did not think we would get that much for him, and it's probably the right time to shake hands and move on.
We need at least 2, potentially 3 in the middle now if Varane does not kick on. |

I really see the potential with Morgan. Bar Madsen, I think he's the best passer of the ball we have. He does always have a loose one in him, though, which makes me nervous. That's more to do with him playing forward rather than sideways and backwards like Varane, Field, Hayden, etc.
Would like to see him bulk up a bit and get a good loan in as he gets caught and shrugged off the ball a lot when his decision making is a bit too slow, it will all come with experience. |

Accepting a 4-0 drubbing at home by Middlesbrough with no complaints?
Yes, they are a good side but that wasn't even competitive, it was like a pre-season friendly, pathetic throughout.
Players on the beach in the first week of march, strolling about and laughing on the bench.
The lack of standards at this football club and accepting not even being competitive at home in the championship is the reason next year will be the exact same. We were playing bloody Middlesbrough not Real Madrid.

Poku put an excellent low ball into the box in the second half right to the penalty spot where you would expect your number 9 to be. Celar was nowhere to be seen and it was easily cleared by the defender.
Dykes used to be the same, rarely in the right space in the box. |

I just have no idea what Madsen offers. He is a really peculiar player. You can tell he is technically gifted, but he never actually does anything of note?
Santos was miles off the standard required unfortunately, but he was not helped by his winger against Millar who was excellent all evening.
This team is really missing Hayden, central midfield cannot control the game whatsoever. |
