I'm surprised that FIFA hadn't agreed and arranged visas for their officials in advance. Their arrangements with the current administration are so cosy they even have their New York office in Trump Tower! |

Buy a striploin joint, ask your guests in a timely manner how thick they'd like their steaks and slice the joint accordingly. Marinade and then cook. |

My tomatoes and chilli plants have been grown from seed and are thriving on the kitchen windowsill. They'll be moving out to the garden tomorrow, when the cold snap is forecast to finish for good. |

I think the coaching team just want to have a look at a broader spectrum of players who may not be/have been involved in the underage international squads. I'm surprised that so many of the senior players are taking part in the training camp, they have had a long season. |

If a defender had his arm positioned in a similar manner on a forward going for the ball in the box, does anyone think the ref would award a penalty? |

Dare I be the first to say it. But given the combination of our tendency to accrue a lot of injuries, the fragility of our defense and the fairly pathetic performances at the tail end of this season, we could struggle next time around. |

The thing is, to quote a Clint Eastwood character, "A man's got to know his limitations". Clive observed that we were beaten in 9 matches out of ten by the teams who finished in the top five this season. We rank among the "Have nots" in this league. Something miraculous has to happen for us to compete among the "Haves". Something like keeping our best eleven injury free would be a good start. [Post edited 3 May 21:56]

If the Opening Poster is thinking of placing a sizeable bet on Ipswich to win at 3/10, then he should take a lot of comfort from those of us who have submitted entries to the final leg of the prediction league. At the time of writing 93% of submissions have predicted a home win. That suggests a much higher probability that 3/10 might indicate. As such, 3/10 might be considered good value. |

Was there any suggestion around moving ground or if that wasn't possible, digging down? |

Having watched and endured recent mind-numbing performances, all the way through to the final whistles, I'm reminded of a quote from a novel by the French philosopher Jean Paul Sartre: "L'ennui, c'est ca". It reflects a moment of philosophical realisation regarding boredom and existence. Yet, we keep coming back for more. This match against Swansea has all the ingredients to be a repeat of the recent Bristol City endurance test. Neither team has any motivating reason to deliver a result, both having secured their tickets to return next season. As such, I predict we won't see any meaningful tackles. The pace of play will inevitably become pedestrian, with defenders on both sides showcasing their ability to pass the ball from one side of the pitch to the other, untroubled by a high press from the opposition. 0-0, or perhaps 0-1, with neither team really caring one way or the other. I wonder whether the stadium announcer will risk playing something different when the teams walk out onto the pitch this evening? Perhaps: Stuck in the middle with you? We're on the road to nowhere? On the Beach? |

That result probably accurately reflects where Dublin are, in their current period of, ahem, transition. |

Wasn't the Charlton match the one where "A winaway, a winaway" was born? |

I watched their match yesterday and thought the Spurs players were genuinely trying to o put some effort into their performances, which was a change from what I'd seen recently. Conor Gallagher put in a noteworthy shift. I think the new manager has made a positive difference. They should beat Wolves. If they do, I think that'll be the momentum change they desperately need. |

I think you're right. Gerry Francis captained England. I guarantee you, Madsen never will. |

The decision by Oliver Stone to cast Angela Jolie (28) as the mother of Alexander the Great, played by Colin Farrell (27) is still baffling to this day. |
