Half decent tv

As a former black cab driver myself I was in two minds about watching this but I think it works because it gives the victims a voice and flags up the insouciance of the police (not for the first time) and not the piece of filth, whose name I refuse to mention.

I found a hair in an egg mayonnaise sandwich at Surbiton station just the other day.

That’s given me a flashback to the only trophy I’ve ever won, an egg cup-shaped thing mounted on a small plastic pedestal, presented to me in recognition of my achievement in a squash club tournament. The inscription read: ‘Best of the Rest. Runner Up’.

They did a magnificent tuna, egg and mayo sandwich at the Piccolo Bar, Blackfriars back in the day. Used to sit on the church steps next door or park up on the cab rank outside to eat them (with a packet of plain McCoy’s and a single espresso thrown in). Happy days.

I5th has certainly been rather discombobulating, I must admit, but let’s not be too hasty. There’s still time for the emergence of financial irregularities, the penalty for which would be 2-points, thus restoring the status quo!

Reubens Deli on Baker Street is great for all that stuff. Used to stop off for a pastrami on rye or chopped liver sandwich from time to time. I presume it’s still going. The place did seem to burn down rather a lot!

Didn’t they get a bit too big for their boots? I was quite happy when they just had the original place in Old Compton Street.
