£1100 on QPR to finish in top 12 this season, thanks MW
at 19:27 30 Apr 2022

Where do I start.....

So in the 90's I went 6 years without missing a league or cup game, home and away. Most of that period I lived in Hastings so an away game up north I'd be out for about around 21 hours. I even slept at Stockport train station one night on my own waiting for a train back after a terrible 0-0 league cup game. So to say I have been a loyal fan in the past would be an understatement.

I have got to the point this season where I can't even be arsed watching us on TV. I have been to two games this season, as my son wanted to go....home to Coventry and Sheff Utd. I can only liken it to going home and realising you don't love your wife anymore. I have just lost all connection with QPR now and it feels sad when I go. Away to Bristol City was live on my TV and I watched some crap TV programme as I had no interest in watching us.

When looking at the line up last night I could have easily turned back and gone home. 1-0 up at half time and about 5% of me thought we might not lose. This is QPR after all, a soft touch when it comes to aerial bombardment. I predicted at half-time, we would concede 2-3 headed goals and lose. I was at the back row of the Ellerslie and sat down for 15 mins, couldn't see a thing. I knew what was coming when it got to 1-1. At the start of the season I had £1100 on QPR finishing in the top 12. I have never ever bet on QPR and always said I never would. I did though this season for the first time and I'm bloody annoyed I took the risk. Watching MW stand there clueless to act on what was quite obviously going to happen, was torture. It was all very predictable and sad knowing your club would just crumble.

So I've fallen out of love with my wife (QPR) but boy have I fallen in love with a right sort.

So over the last 5 years I've been going to watch Corinthian-Casuals FC. I feel like a kid again. They play in the Isthmian Premier League, so three promotions away from League two, average gates of about 300-400. I love it. So we are the top amateur club in the U.K. Playing against all semi-pro teams every week. This season I've been about 25 games and every week I walk away proud of my team. The staff and players all do it for nothing and give hidings out to players on anything from £300-£1000 a week. At the end of every game the players come down to the fans and high five each and every fan. My 12 year old son has even been in the dressing room for a pre match team talk. My son walked for 5 hours to raise some money for the club. At the finish line the directors, manager, players and fans were waiting for him to applaud his last strides. Just a fantastic class act of a club....I'm in love again. Alec Stewart and father MickyStewart (Cricket) are at most home games, Zaha and Kante have been to a game and also former QPR man Andy Gray (ex Casuals). A couple of years ago Casuals were in a pre season tournament in Budapest. To date, it is my favourite ever weekend. My son and I stayed in the same hotel as the players, my son lead the team out as mascot, we dined with the players and travelled to games on the players coach. We also won the competition.....'Champions of Europe, you know who we are'. Regardless of money and the league we play in, it's all been just a humbling, fantastic experience following Corinthian-Casuals FC.

Back to QPR. At the final whistle last night I just wanted to get away but my son wanted to applaud the players. I stood there looking around me and just felt the odd one out. Fans clapping, chanting and even bowing to players on thousands a week who just crumble. 3rd in the league at one point and just fell apart, no fight or desire at all.

I have had some wonderful times supporting QPR. I was at Anfield 3-1 win, Old Trafford 4-1 win, Elland Road to see Wegerle's goal, Hillsborough to see promotion, Watford to see us win the league and Wembley for our play off win. BUT do you know what tops all of those moments for me. It was playing in League One. I was sitting on my own, empty seats all around me. I watched Rowlands, Gallen, Bircham and Ainsworth all go flying into tackles, one after the other. My chest pumped up with pride and I thought 'I f****** love this club'. It's the simple things in life ain't it. The only thing I think now that could possibly get my juices flowing again would be for Gareth Ainsworth to be manager.

It's not just QPR that saddens me with football now. Look at Man Utd now, what a disgrace the players are there, shocking. I wouldn't want QPR getting promoted anyway, just to get hidings every week. Football has changed so much over the years and not for the better.

Well QPR and Mark Warburton, it seems to me your minds were on your holidays a long time ago. One game to go and I hold little hope not losing my £1100. Still I had the same bet on Wycombe finishing in the top 12, I knew Gareth Ainsworth wouldn't let me down. I don't think any team he was involved with would be allowed to crumble as we have.

Roll on August and the start of another humbling and exciting season following the mighty Corinthian-Casuals FC. Discovering this club is the best thing to ever happen to me other than my son being born. Vai Corinthians.

Good luck today Corinthian Casuals
at 10:35 16 Jun 2019

I am in Budapest watching Corinthian Casuals play in the Corinthian Cup. We won our semi final yesterday 3-0. Today we play in the final at 1630. We have stayed in the same hotel as the players, had breakfast and dinner with the squad. Travelled to the games with them and my son was mascot. As much as I will always love QPR a huge part of my heart is now with the Casuals. Such an amazing history and the club are so accessible to the fans. About 70 Casuals fans are here singing away, been a fantastic trip.

A message to our owners - One real mistake by IH
at 07:27 22 Aug 2018

When NW was got rid of I was fuming with QPR. I moaned and groaned until we finally got IH back, I felt a connection again.

IH for me was doing a fine job. Our top brass clearly have short memories. Things were bad when he joined. He got rid of all the dead wood and developed quite a few youngsters. I said it back then and I’ll say it again, he should have at least been given this season to carry on, at least. I’m now actually livid with QPR as a club. I can barely be bothered to watch on tv anymore let alone attend. This is coming from a fan that went 6 years without missing a home or away game. Yes I’m that detached now because of the endless f****** stupid decisions that are made. IH only made one awful mistake in my mind, that was saying Luongo could play for Man City one day. Ridiculous comment.

I’m not saying any one of Derry, Ainsworth wouldntvtake us down but I don’t care. They are the only ones that would get me back to LR. Or Allardyce, IH back or Warnock which would never happen.

Just embarrassed by our endless stupid decisions and cluelessness. Even us getting a new ground has to be a 10 year drama. Useless.

Conor Washington an inspiration to youngsters

Joke of a club
at 16:55 18 Aug 2018

Never should of let Warnock go, we did, big mistake.

TF goes on about stability

IH comes in, clears all the dead wood out and introduces and blends good youth. So we get rid and get Steeeeeve in. Again, should never have let IH go and now look.

Just a f****** joke of a club.

Next will be a foreign manager and relegation.

Then we get a good British coach in like IH or NW, get promoted, let him go and then shi*t again. Endless cycle.

Atmosphere/Identity
at 20:32 13 Aug 2018

Hear me out here. The hairs on the back of my neck stand erect when I hear the Palace Ultras sing, the Kop in full voice, Hammers singing their song, even Chelsea when they warm up to their tune. It just gives a team an identity which we don't have. To me, singing come on your rs repeatedly is a bit dull.

Two weeks ago I was at Celtic Park and I still can't get over how good their fans were. Ninety minutes solid of drums beating, and each song totally different, pure passion.

Best bit for me at QPR is when hi ho silver lining is played and we all sing to it. I was shot down in flames before when I mentioned it but I'd love it to be played just as we kick off so the atmosphere is electric as we kick off. Anyone think this would work?

Saw this today and it is incredible. Hibernian fans singing 'Sunshine on Leith' from the film Sunshine on Leith. I'd just love us to stand out in some way to make other fans envy us for a change. Watch this it's superb, best I have seen.

Just back - from Celtic v Livingston
at 09:12 5 Aug 2018

Wow, what a crowd, good performance and the usual win.
Never known a crowd like that. The drum started before KO and stopped for no more than 5 seconds throughout the match. Every song they sang was different. Just fantastic. They have a section that does all the singing, a lot better version of Palace’s lot.

Ibrox tour today and back home after a great week travelling the West Coast.

Tony Fernandes and stability
at 16:25 10 May 2018

I have always loved Holloway and also a big TF fan. Yes both make mistakes but who doesn’t. Ian took over us when we were a complete mess of a club. In his time he has got rid of all the time wasters and brought through so much future talent. I’d of bitten my own arm off for us to be where we are now with this crop of youngsters. Add that to TF constantly going on about stability being the key. So what does he do, gets rid of a guy that loves our club and who has slowly started to build solid foundations. I just think Ian should of been given another year to see what he can do with us. Sure he makes some bizarre statements and team selections but what Manager doesn’t.

What if McLaren doesn’t work out for us, back to the merry go round of managers yet again.

I said we should never of let Warnock go and look what he has done. Feel I’ll be saying the same again.

Same old QPR.

Backing for Holloway.
at 18:42 9 Dec 2017

Personally I think fans have very short memories. Look where we were a couple of seasons ago. Players not playing for the shirt and no hope whatsoever.

IH comes back and already we have a team of fighters who don’t give up. That’s the main thing for me to see which should give everyone hope. I think he has to be given this and next season to keep building. So many positives in my opinion what with our midfield three, general attitude and a few other pluses. I think a proper striker would make a difference with Hall back and some more signings in January and the Summer. He has the players fighting which to me is the most important asset in a team. Just be patient, most of us thought half way or below this season. Yes it’s crap at the moment but changing managers is not always the answer.

Also, we have a manager that absolutely loves the club and will put everything in to making things right.

What is it with our club.
at 14:47 19 Jul 2017

FFS do they make any normal decisions. Just called ticket number to get tickets for Reading game. Automated message has some Italian sounding lady that I can't understand at all. Ended up putting phone down and trying again to listen to options. So hard to understand her. Why oh why have someone on the clubs line that does not speak clear fu**ing English.

Then when I get through no one is on the line.

How hard is it seriously to run a club our size properly.

Last two seasons for Adel, he played not one game for Benfica first team. Now on loan at Genoa and has only played two games. What an absolute waste of talent, two matches in 2 years. Just shows attitude is the number one thing a player needs. Can't believe he has not yet sorted his head out and realised what a career he has wasted.

Hall, Luongo, Set Pieces.
at 17:12 28 Dec 2016

I don't go as much nowadays but watch every live game and go the odd game. I was shot down on here when I said I would out Luongo, Chery to replace them with Holloway type players.

I know Hall is very rated on here as a future star centre back for us.

After watching yesterday I'm even more adamant Luongo is very overrated and that's nothing to do with the penalty he gave away. I've never seen him play well or look
Any threat at all. He is poor defensively, shoved off the ball too easily. I pray we get a few quid for him and he goes. It's like watching a little kid playing against grown men.

I was shocked how bad QPR were yesterday defending set pieces. Every single set piece Brighton won, every one. Hall was out jumped and out fought literally every corner. If he is our future along with Luongo and Chery then we are bang in trouble.

I don't think we will go down, I think Holloway will keep us up. We are certainly playing better than when JFH was in charge, that was just painful to watch. We seem to be having spells under IH where we are playing well enough but lack punch up front.

Ollies biggest decision

Luongo/Chery. Hope he gets rid of both. Both overrated and neither will suit his style of play should he play 442.

Hope they both go and Ollie don't keep them.
