Mad to me that pubs close at 11 to stop WW1 factory workers getting pissed up on an all nighter before making bombs, and 106 years later I'm still being booted out of the pub at 10:30

Onuoha on loosing his mum
at 10:19 22 Mar 2024

I went to the doctor last year because I thought I saw blood in my poo. After giving my rear end a proper going over, he faced me and said "......You didn't happen to have beetroot in your dinner last night did you?"

Oh well, better safe than sorry!

Absolutely, and with what Clive said, the opposite is true too. When my dad died my boss was absolutely incredible. Incredible. To the point I eventually had to tell him he could loosen the reigns because was out in the company actively batting work away from me (I'm a kind of internal consultant).

Not that I'd be a prick to the extent of Johnstone Press, but it really left an indelible mark on me that that is the standard, and if I end up managing someone going through a bereavement, that is the bar I have to hit. We can all make a change for the better even if it's small and for one person

With all the plaudits Dune is getting, worth remembering that Denis Villeneuve has also made one of the best science fiction films of all time in the masterful Arrival

Non Film Night

Due to the success of Sin City, someone let noted problematic comic book writer Frank Miller direct a film.

The Spirit.

Truly removed of any redeeming features, it is is absolutely appalling. Has 14% on Rotten Tomatoes, far too generous.

I have never walked out of a film, but I won't lie, during The Happening (an ironic title) my bum did leave the seat as I got up to walk out before reconsidering. Only the ham grade acting that is unintentionally very funny kept me there till the end

it's in mortal danger, but from itself. The jumps programme is too bloated for the horse population, trainers prioriise swerving each other rather than competitive racing. Loss limits will savage the amount of money coming into the game, and bookies will drop it. I give it 10 years, 5 if JP dies unexpectedly, he's single handedly propping the whole thing up at the moment

I think you have to do the shortie treble today, though I would give Stay Away Fay a good squeak given F2F hasn't been tested at the distance. I personally need Ballyburn for 4 figures, so week made if he bolts in

14:50 - Jigoro 12/1 each way
16:50 - Sa Fureur 8/1 each way, Triple Trade each way
17:30 - You Oughta Know 10/1 each way, Fleur Au Fusil 12/1 each way

Whilst I prefer Stay Away Fay in the 3m novice chase, everyone is gonna be on the Ballyburn/Fact to File/El Fabiolo treble - be fun to be in on it, maybe whack your Paddy Power and Hills free bets on it

Also worth perming top trainer's jockeys rides in yankees and lucky 31s - Mullins, Elliot and DeBromhead's horses all ran very very well today. Whack Townend/Kennedy/Blackmore's rides in little multis

Trainer form is a massive worry though

Prior to the fest his horses were running very poorly.

His horses' form today: PU/PU/3/PU/PU/PU

Now, heavy ground I'll admit, but he was having tons of PUs prior to the festival, Constitution Hill ruled out with an illness and rumours abound about a virus in his yard.

DTG's form is great (Betfair Hurdle form is fire) but I wouldn't go near Hendo's runners atm - including Sir Gino on Friday who missed work in the run up to the festival

Yeah he released two album on the same day, Digital Ash in a Digital Urn, and Wide Awake It's Morning which is more his traditional style. The latter was a huge success which sadly meant we never got more stuff like Digital Ash which is a shame cos it's an absolute stunner
